Hill and Derry should be given 10 year contracts and employed as attitude coaches at W12. Not seen many like those two model pro's in all the years I've been watching footie.

Agree they are key in our battle for survival but what comes across from players who have worked under Hughes is his ruthlessness. What he needs for this season might not be what he wants for next season. In his old age Warnock was sentimental and wd have handed out contracts almost as thankyous to favourites, even if he didn't intend using them much. Hughes will not be influenced by what these players have done in the past. You might be right and he might think they can do a job next season but we know he was looking to sign another first choice keeper. With a former scout signed as technical director I think our squad is more likely to be bulked up by youngsters such as the Chelsea trialist or relative unknowns from foreign leagues. Think there will be a big, big cull of the old warhorses. Just my reading of the situation.

Personally I think Hill has been a revelation at centre half lately but I'd be amazed if we didn't sign another centre half in the close season - then will there still be room for Clint?

There'll be room for Clint before there's room for Hall, Gabiddon, Shittu, Ramage etc.

When Mark Hughes said that HE would decide who could leave in the summer, and that included even if we went down, I'd assumed he was talking about the more recent arrivals.
Now I wonder whether he was talking about some of the longer-standing players that NW has his eye on.
Wouldn't mind betting Mackie could be a target for NW too. And possibly a couple of others, not just the obvious ones -- Smith doesn't seem too happy at the mo, to be honest.

IT was obvious he'd come in for his old boys, and no matter how much sentiment there may be towards them, i fully expect they would be replaced in the summer anyway.

IF Blackburn go down we should pay what it takes to sign Robinson imo as he's quality, or possibly Al Habsi from Wigan?

That said MH will probably have many Foreign players lined up we've never heard of who cost half the price and are twice the players...

Totally agree with this comment. Especially the way SD handled himself after the red card, If only more of the prima-donnas in this bloody league who play for the so called bigger clubs would accept these decisions I think the ref would not be under as much pressure and possibly handle the game better without a fear factor as such
