One, very early, thing I have noticed about Magilton is his treatment of the players on Saturday.

He was not afraid to give players a #######ing when they screwed up. Ramage came in for some treatment. Even Gorkss, too, when something he did didn't work out. Magilton certainly looked geared up to throw a few cups of tea round the dressing room at half time, even though we were 2-0 to the good in the first half. We played a lot better in the second half.

Don't think Sousa was that kind of manager. Is that sense of desire something which we lacked last season?

i think the players were nervous though incase they mucked up. cant be a good thing really as they cant express themselves. For me he was a bit over the top, didnt hear a word of encouragement, great way to build confidence jim. ****.

I think JM is doing the right thing. He is showing this is serious business and wants all his players to be working hard and putting everything in at every moment of the game. This will help the team focus, and hopefully stop us conceding stupid goals. So far in pre season, hes got the whole team passing the ball very well, and rarely giveing the ball away

        Are you for real?

So...you'd rather have a manger who'll let players breeze through games, making mistakes and being told 'better luck next time' whenever a mistake is made.

JM can't win with some fans. The jury is still out and some firmly believe he'll be a mistake. Personally, I make him right. Players need to know when they're in the wrong. Damion Stewart will get an earful most games which is needed. Maybe that'll help him concentrate and learn his full potential.
        Your mum would love me...

what so shouting the hell out of them is going to boost their confidence. some players are going to be so low on morale its untrue. understand what you are saying, but there are other ways of going about it.

Think it should be mixed up. Some players respond better to a dressing down. Other players - such as Borrowdale - do not. We certainly need that will to win in a tough league this season.

Low on morale, for being shouted at by a manager? What's a manager there for then? When anyone gets it wrong in their job they get it in the neck, football's the same, and as someone pointed out earlier - they're doing a job they love and getting paid a **** load for it.
Out of curiosity, have you ever run away from your own shadow?

They are professional footballers FFS!! Not 5 year olds!!! It maybe a case that Sousa was too laid back? We all want promotion don't we???? Where you in the dressing room at half time?? Are you privvy to what was said??? Do you know that no words of encouragement weren't said??? Could be 'good cop/bad cop' situation in the dressing room with Magilton and Gorman?

I know what you're saying mate, but these guys get paid a shed load of money so they should be able to take comfort in that. Personally, I think that it drives them on a bit more. Sure, if the same guy keeps getting stick, It'll grind him down, but in the same respect, if the same guy gets the verbal, I'm sure he wouldn't be getting picked.

They need discipline and also to know who's in charge. JM is taking this role seriously as he has a lot to prove, not only to us, but to the board and even himself. I think he's showing us he's determined to do this and also feel he has every right in addressing his squad how he sees fit.

i agree they should be shouted out to show discipline, but they have to get the mix right. A few words of encouragement on the pitch wouldnt have gone a miss...

God I hope we do not play Chelsea behind closed doors in a few days' time, passion or no passion, that would not be a game to finish our pre-season on a high.
