Positive pre season?

What do people think of our performances on pre season? I got to see a few games and have to say i was impressed - but i cant help thinking that its only because we played weaker opposition? I know we can only play against who is put in front of us - but im worried that the championship standard is going to be a shock - after playing, kettering, aldershot, wycombe etc.... Couldnt have asked for much better performances in pre season, but can we do it against championship teams in the league - where it really counts?

Well we do tend to play better against better oppostion.
Can think of home games against Wolves and birmingham last season however...this season will be VERY tough as we have some very big clubs in it. I think we missed the boat last season and I just hope we can sneak into a playoff place. Promotion for me will be middlesborough, west brom and sheff utd as the 1st 2 have great squads and aren't losing many players and the latter has spent real money.

Well the friendlys were no competition, it will be interesting to see how we do against the big boys.
Looking through reports, it seems we play well in spasms, but also it looks like the problem still is up front, who will put these goals away? Also a lot of players were played out of their position so expect to see a lot of that this season.
Overall I would say it is ok, but still do not look convincing to me.

I cannot understand we did not play at least one game against better opposition and can anyone remember when we last played a friendly at Loftus Rd against a team in a league below us?

im not so concerned about up front anymore. I mean i think its ridiculous we havent signed a striker, however i can see lots of goals coming from combinations of balanta, buzz, rowlands, vine, agyemang, taraabt. I know last season we did great at the back - but im not convinced this year. I think there has been too much fiddling around with it, and it should have just been left alone. Hope they prove me wrong though

as long as ur mate stewart stays out the starting XI we'll be ok. nah joking. but hall and gorkss do look like they are being played together quite a bit so they are obviously jims first choice centre halfs

! id prefer stewart - although as long as we keep the ball out, i dont mind if Bob Malcome plays! I just want our team to do well this year - and am worried that the defence hasnt really been tested enough in pre season - as i feel Hall may struggle - but hope im wrong, as it looks as though he will be starting agaisnt blackpool!

no chance of bob malcom dando , hes gone to some australian team , could have really helped our push for promotion lol

Though results were ok we were not exactly given a big test to see where we are at. Hopefully Saturday will show that
