  • Why was Peter Odimwingie not sent off??

He clearly moved his head towards Ben Foster. He clearly shows intent so should be a red card. Barton didn't move his head to the Norwich player and got a red card.

Another West Brom player, Mulimbu should have got sent off the other week against Wigan for having his hands round the throat of a player.

Why do some clubs get treated differently to us?
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Before barton was sent off vs norwich he was being strangled by johnson, the picture of it was in all the papers the next day. I think it was that same weekend when dempsey actually went to head-butt skrtel repeatedly and didnt even get a yellow, refereeing decisions lack any form of consistency im afraid. one thing is for certain if youre a top side you grow accustomed to having things your way. how many times did arsenal and liverpool players turn on the ref expecting to get a decision to go their way.

Referees should not be allowed to "interpret" the laws of the game.
Referees should APPLY the law as written, no more, no less.
The only way we are going to see consistency is by doing the above.

So long as refs are allowed to "interpret" the rules, we will always have appalling decisions made by officials.

      Don't "interpret", APPLY.

This rule seems to be one of the most consistently applied ones -- unfortunately for us, we seem to have been on the harsher side of it whilst other teams' players have got away with murder.

That's exactly the point I'm trying to make.
If the rules were applied as written, for everyone, not just us, and refs were sanctioned for not doing so, a more level playing field would be found for every club, not just the few.
As long as individuals are allowed to give their so-called interpretation of something, we will always have controversy, where no controversy should exist.
