I was convinced it was all over after the Everton drawn game. But the manner of the fightback against L'Pool meant I stayed up all night here in Australia for the Sunderland game. I thought a win, plus defeat for Wigan, Bolton-Blackburn draw, Wolves loss would give us a tiny glimmer of hope. I should have known.
It WAS indeed all over after the Everton game. I just hope now we can reach 32 points (realistic) and avoid 20th place (also realistic). Then at least we've done better than I predicted before the season started when I thought we'd finish 20th with an absolute maximum of 30 points (I thought around 24 points was more likely). Cost TF & Co. a lot of money and hope, though, for those few extra points. I won't be staying up for the Arsenal game even though I think we might just scrape a win, funnily enough. It really will be far too late to give us any chance of staying up. I think the club that finish 17th will finish with 38-39 points. We won't do better than 33-34 at very best. We will be hammered I expect by Man Utd and City for a start, and very probably by the ****.

As I see it our season started and ended all the same with the January window; we just didnīt get enough quality into the squad.
If we had managed to sign Alex, Bassong, Pienaar and supposedly a few others our situation would have been a quite different now.

I bet we get relegated at Chelsea.

          It's our destiny I'm afraid.

The thing is you can bet your life the other teams down there with us WILL pick up their wins towards the end of the season. It happens every year. So whilst everyone looks at the Swansea and West Brom games as realistic chanes of picking up points i fear they wont be enough. We missed our chances losing games against Wolves Blackburn Bolton etc. They were the games we needed to pick up wins imo.
