-It may not happen, but we may pick up most of our remaining points against the big sides and lose the the smaller likes of WBA or Swansea.
-Defence should hopefully learn from their mistakes or Hughes should have a go at them, so they never make the same mistakes again
-Helguson should be back soon, no doubt about it he knows what the fans want and he will score for us
-Barton will be fired up, and should play well in our remaining games and he when he plays well, he is very useful
-DJ should come back before Cisse does, and he out of all of our players including Mackie, knows EXACTLY what us fans want and he is probably dying to get out there and show everyone what he can do
-Still 8 games to go, 24 points to play for.

    U'RRRRRRRRRRRs :yush:

        Beauty must be in death,
        And I will always tell,
        What once an afternoon,
        Softly to me befell.

        I sat in the garden,
        A silence of my own,
        When from a Jasmine tree,
        Some petals rattled down.

        The tree knew no difference,
        No regret, gloom or shame;
        A flower left the tree,
The tree was not to blame.

        The dead and faded blue,
        Floated high and high:
        And then my heart evoked,
        A wayward thought in me.

'If death be such, and free,
Should come to me this hour,
        I could die like Jasmines-
        Ever and for-ever! '

Crikey, if today was an example of our mob fighting to the death, we should have the funeral for our short-lived premier league place, tomorrow.

I don't think our problem today was lack of effort. It was more that Sunderland are a proper team that clearly play as a very cohesive unit. We, however, were the polar opposite.

Its hard to disagree with you there mate.

The crazy thing is, looking at the table tonight, it still doesn't look a lost cause, even with our run-in compared to the other four sides. I can still see us finishing 17th due to our goal difference being much better than Wolves, Wigan and Bolton's.

Truth is it still ain't over, no matter how poor a side we are..
Way I see it is we are going down, if we somehow manage to stay up then great.
Either way I wish the season was over now, it's been awful to watch from the very beggining.
                    Barton is Innocent ok....

You could have said exactly that, for the majority of games we have played thus far this sorry season, and I gravely suspect there will be more than a few more games yet before we mercifully hear that final whistle blow at Citeh.

Much as I want to believe there will be one, I doubt a magic formula will be found that will enable our sorry shower to string two wins together.

We havent kept a clean sheet for about 20 matches, and although we can always nick a goal, it will never be enough to keep us up. Unfortunately we overachieved last year - anyone who went to Scunthorpe away or Barnsley (even though we won) and remembers that we didn't win at home for the last 4 matches (including the defeat to Leeds on the final day of the season) will recognise that - and we have been found out despite the addition of a few "big name " players.

All long term Rs fans will recognise that we need stability, and we have for the first time since Jin Gregory decent owners. Having sung to many fans (Millwall sticks in the mind) that "We will never play you again" we will be back amongst them next year, and we will need to build on what we have - eg, Kenny, Young, Onoha, Traore, Hill, Derry, Barton, Diakite, Faurlin, Mackie, Zamora, HH, Taraabt, Cisse (if he can behave himself) as a nucleus to get us out of the Championship. I would let Hall, Bothroyd, Buzasky, Taiwo, Hulse, SWP, Cerny and Smith go, and try to find 3 players (centre back, center midfield, young gk) to start building for the future.

You lot may think I'm crazy but I think we could beat Arsenal AND United at their place. Got a good feeling about it
