  • Official Joey barton Statistics

His pass success rate is 73.3%
that is 205th out of 275 players
Interestingly his pass rate is lower at thome (72.4%) than away

In terms of tackling he does very well
he averages 3.1 tackles a game which is 13th best in the league!
BUT guess who is the best tackler in the premier league???
Faurlin at 4.5 tackles a game!!!

In terms of key passes per game (those that lead to goal chances) he is 11th in the league with 2.2 per game

he is also 11th in the league with accruate crosses per game on 1.7 per game

So in my conclusion, his passing has been woeful BUT when he does get it right it leads to more chances than other people who have a higher pass completion percentage
He is also a very good tackler.
Not what i expected at all

Not suprised to be honest, but once his card was marked and the gallows near enough prepared there was no point in try to highlight the good aspects of his that benefit us as a team.

Exactly it would be interesting to see the other midfielders stats in our squad . Let's see if all this abuse is down to not liking him as a person rather than a player.

always puts in a good shift in my opinion! his distribution can improve but he tackles and runs a lot more than most, give him a break. just getting boring now
I cant help FAURLIN in the love with you.....

Kinda agree with all the above.
Joey Barton is not the worst player I've ever seen, not the best either, but certainly not the worst.

The booing was out of order.

so if he takes more care with his passing he will be doing well. Good , im not surprides at all to see the stats about faurlin, he is a quality holding midfielder

Faurlin STILL has the most tackles per game, even though he's been injured for about 3 months.

Shaun Wright-Phillips and Adel Taarabt have had 97 shots between then this season without scoring. Some of this is confidence and bad luck.

i have been one to criticise and boo barton as he always seems to be not trying but the statistics disagree.

i am man enough to admit it
shame the 10s of pages of people slating him are not willing to comment on this thread

Wednesday night threw his body twice in the way of goal bound shots

Spot on mate. I think QPR fans expected some sort of super mega player that would lead us to mid table and above. IMHO our plight stems form some basic errors in defence (not picking up players quick enough etc) and not having the firepower to counter that (untill Cisse and Zamora). And although Helgusons efforts have been fantastic, he just hasn't had the support.

Bang on! To come back to an early point, I think people conveniently forget how many rimes this season he's blocked shot destined to go in the net.

Will agree his running and work rate are very good.

Still think we should have someone else take free-kicks and corners as I don't think his stats for that would look too impressive.

Also, surprised at his pass completion rate, considering how many times he appears to concede possession so cheaply.

Typical of our luck, the one time Wright Phillips did ut the ball in the net he was incorrectly flagged offside. If that goal had been given we may have been watching a very different Wright Phillips to the one we are seeing now.

I stand by what I said in original post. Individual errors in defence have cost us dearly today and all season long.
