Just caught the tale end of a text read out on Talksport from an R's fan just 5 mins ago.Text claiming Barton's 357 misplaced passes this season is the worst by far of any outfield player. If this is true then it reflects on his season as a whole and not just a one-off poor performance that some would have you believe.

Yes, he is statistically the worst player in the league in terms of pass completion. Not like he tries defence splitting passes either.

I watched the Football First re-run this afternoon and specifically watched the performance of Dolly Barton
Run down as follows on 1st half only but stress on an edited highlights package only:-
Attempted 23 passes
4 of these went straight to red shirts under little or no pressure
Blocked 1 attempt goal bound from a corner scramble
One woefully off target shot
2 fantastic block tackles with one of those coming after tracking a runner 2/3rds the lenght of the pitch
That blocked tackle run as above came after he gave the ball away edge of scousers box
Conceeded 1 free kick in dangerous position after a dubious tackle near touchline but I thought he won the ball
Moaned at someone twice
No footage of any verbal encouragement
So I would say his performance last night not too dissimilar to the last 10 games.
Stood out a bit more because every time he gave ball away the scousers onto it and broke at pace.
His counterparts in midfield were also particularly wasteful in possession
Problem "we" have with Dolly is there's not really someone who can come in and play his role when in CM and I'd fear reliance on Derry and Dikate for next 9 games.
For me it should be Thomas Smith on the right but he seems to be well out of favour. I don't think Mackie should be starter in all games but I would definetely start him v Swansea.
Hopefully Dolly will take to ****ter and announce he's retiring from the virtual world, accept he's going have to shut up and put up to win the fans back and also hand the armband to Anton so that he can concentrate on his own game
I'm no big fan of Dolly having weighed it all up over 20 games however I hope he can turn it around quick as it'll benefit him and more importantly the clubLast edited by LBLOCK; 22-03-2012, 07:56 PM.I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

Highlightes didn't show all his miss placed passes as they are not included in highlightes.
I was so amazed at his first 10 attempts to pass I had to wast half my mobile credit texting my brother to rant. That left enough for one emergency text only - and there was no chance Joey was going to do anything good except get subbed, so that 12p was safe.

What i dont get is Bartons tweet last night 'i was awful today.........form is temporary Class is permanent'. I do hope he doesnt think think that he has been playing well these past few months because he has been anything but.
And to think there were people on here supporting him when he called Mackie a w0nker for missing a chance. Now he knows what it feels like to get some stick, what goes around comes around.
What he needs to do now is knuckle down, graft in training and right the wrongs. He WAS class at Newcastle so we know he has it but he now needs to win the fans over.

Tbf to him, if people are constantly trying to throw negatives at him and pull out stats to try mug him off, why wouldnt he pull out some stats to try defend himself? I know I would. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I was talking to a guy in the pub last night before the game who claimed he was Bartons dad, anyway he said joey loves it here, bought a house locally and if we were to get relegated he has a clause in his contract to leave, but said there was no chance he would leave. He said he was really up for the game and his dad even backed him for 1st goal scorer. The interesting comment he did make was Joey does not want the responsibilty of the captaincy and wants to just concentrate on playing. Just passing on info, no idea if what he was saying was gospel but he seemed genuine enough.
