Although I think the booing of your own player is a disgrace..when he left the pitch the whole place lifted...lad next to me said "he should have done that 15 minutes ago"..i responded" no he should have done it 15 games ago"

yes - booing our own players is a disgrace.
but being the captain of a PL side fighting to survive, at home, and not just "losing the ball a couple of times" but being worse than that Ba lad for Southampton 15 odd years ago is also a disgrace.
i didn't boo - but i certaintly asked him to get off the pitch.

There is a difference between shouting hard but true encouragement at individual players then booing in unison, thats totally not on.

What is 'hard but true encouragement'?

Never have and never will boo my own players and the reaction last night was tough - but it may just kick him hard enough to make him realise he needs to do more. It was the right decision to take him off and it certainly lifted the whole place.
Did anyone else notice how Adel came alive when he went off - I think that is partly because Mackie provides the spark and energy that Adel craves by making runs and giving options but it's also because Adel gets more freedom when he hasn't got Barton criticising his every move.

I agree about not booing our players - I've never done it before BUT last night I did. Barton has brought so much of this on himself this season. If he wasn't on twitter, I don't believe so many of us would feel as angry as we do. He has not behaved like a Captain, he does not lift the team IMO and his passing is woeful. The team changed noticeably when he went off last night and I stand by the fact that it's the only time I've booed one of our players off in 30 yrs. He did not deserve to be clapped off.

Dont think its a question of whether he DESERVED to be clapped off its whether you think booing makes our players perform better or worse - that is the only relevant question here.

Well he couldn't play worse next time he's on and we went on to score 3, so I guess it worked!

Do you think QPR played better or worse after Joey was booed off ?

QPR obviously played better, but because of the substition, not the booing. How will Barton play next time (and whatever fans say, there will be a next time)? Maybe as some suggest it will give him the kick up the back side he needs - or maybe it will push him further into his shell. Time will tell.

I don't boo our players but for the genuine football he played last i didn't want him on the pitch 2nd half and was more than happy when he come off for a player who puts more heart and passion in than he has done all season . He can take the boos and prove the haters wrong on the pitch or he can keep resulting to twitter and express his controversial opinions on there .

Yes, Twitter is the reason he is underperforming at present....it's all Twitters fault, close it down now....remember JB, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED A LIFE OUTSIDE OF LOFTUS ROAD.
