Not about being right or wrong though. I mean, I always liked George Santos.....and I'm definitely the only one who thinks that!

I should clarify that I was not a fan when Ollie used to put him upfront.....god do you remember those games....shocking....now that was the time to leave and go for a drink!

Diakite definitely wasnt awful, caught in possession a few times but the overall work was good enough. Showed good passing ability and also pace and power, there is a lot to like about him for the future.

I know we should be celebrating but please take those rose tinted glasses off! Pathetic defending for their 2nd goal, totally at fault! That doesn't fit an excellent in my book!

Thought he was v gd tonight when he came on. Must admit had to stiffle a groan when I saw him coming on as Traore had been superb and Taiwo has been at best inconsistent but started to show his class tonight.

Diakte has the potential to be a really good player - just needs more coaching, particulaly to teach him to release the ball earlier. Look at how Liverpool played first half hour - just pass and go. So simple but cut us to ribbons.

Thought he was quality tonight. Had a bad game against Villa but every other game he's played he's been good
We're Queens Park Rangers and we always do things the hard way!

fair point but harsh to say he was totally at fault. I feared the worst when I saw him coming on at half time but overall he looked a lot steadier and made a few important challenges

I was only trying to highlight his superb cross
Should be No harm in trying to boost his confidence a bit.
As far as I know he is a QPR player after all.

Diakite really showed class when Barton was taken off.
If this team gel and we happen to survive in this division we really have a good player in our team.

How exactly was he "totally at fault" for their 2nd goal?

He wasnt the defender made to look stupid on the edge of the box by suarez with 2 straightforward turns, that was Onouha.

When the ball rebounded off the post to Downing, he was the first defender who went to block a shot which Downing faked on Taiwo, then Ferdinand and then a 3rd defender i think was Onoura also, before shooting, which Paddy parried to Kuyt who scored.

So please explain how Taiwo was "totally at fault" as clearly your interpretation of the game works differently to everyone on planet Earth.

He played well when on the pitch bar a dodgy moment early on. As usual his general distribution to the front or advanced midfield players was accurate, he defended fine and delivered quality into the box.

As for those slating Diakite's performance.... Bear in mind this. This was only his 2nd full match in England, he was paired with Derry in the midfield, and was competing against arguably the best midfielder the prem's ever seen in Gerrard, plus Charlie Adam who was shortlisted for player of the year last year..... Considering those little facts, i think he had a fantastic game. Yes he lost the ball early on with a couple of sloppy passes, but after that was solid, energetic, a driving force, an out ball, skillful and good in posession.

What more do some fans want!!

He will come good with more experience and wins, of course.

I have no doubt Onouha will come good, and am not trying to slate him at all, only highlighting certain players make errors which never get commented on, yet others get slated for seemingly nothing. Onoura also made a real howler in the first few mins missing the ball completely when Suarez then ran through 1 on 1 and should've scored. Luckilly for us Kenny saved it.
