Well he has been disappointing all season, was even worse yesterday and as soon as he departed we got the best result of the season showing a team bond that hasn't been seen since everton away at the start of the season. So I'm still confused!!

Barton will be playing on Saturday no problems sure Hughes has had a word in his ear! (play him through the middle) Mackie better as an impact player

Jesus how many people here sit on their high horses. Well done you. I think when the minority boo it is normally unacceptable because they are not playing well and fans are frustrated in a particular moment. For Barton, the majority booed and it is because it is SCANDALOUS that any player, whether he is a captain or not, averages the performances he has over the course of the season and still gets any game time never mind a starting place. If you think it is a co-incidence that we got our best result of the season as soon as he was off then you are a fool. The players played as a team and wanted it as a team just that bit more.... At the moment we are accommodating Barton. He was sh1te at centre mid and instead of correctly dropping him we push him in to right midfield. Get rid and then we have a chance

Barton was awful last night but i just dont get it.

Is it because he is captain and finds the reponsibility to much

Is it because he simply does not care

Is it because he is just here for the money

Is it because he has just become an awful player since he moved to us

Is it because he is just unliked in the dressing room and a trouble maker

Is it because he is being played out of position,i always saw him in the past
as a ball winning tough tackling midfield player but seems even almost to
do that for fear of being sent off.

I am not making excuses for him just dont understand how the player that
was loved at newcastle by the fans becomes such a tart.

I am not a big fan of Barton, never have been, however, I am not one that would #### him off at a game either. Take away the hype, Twitter, the amount of money he is getting paid and look at the player.....nothing special.....his passing, corners and set pieces are poor. As a captain I don't see him rallying the players..........all in all a very very average player.

What concerns me most is the number of times he gives the ball away to the opposition, especially in critical areas of the pitch......thta is why he is being singled out. Are there other players not pulling htier weight? Of course? But he is in a pivitol role and not delivering.

Blimey all the handbags are out on this thread.

I haven't bothered reading all posts, but as said in many, he had a stinker and has openly admitted as such. He was deservedly subbed, which i'm glad MH showed the bottle to do, as many won't sub their captain, but he shouldn't be boo'd by our fans as it compounds the situation and doesn't help.

Just for clarity, if anyone thinks any footballer, no matter if it's school, park, or pro level is happy when they play badly then they must be stupid. He will be the first to curse himself in his head i'm sure every time he passes to the oppo's or fu$%s up a dead ball. He will want to play well.

I actually think part of the issue may be becasue he has this illusion of grandeur and thinks he's far better than he is, so when he plays badly it may affect his game further as a result... who knows how his mind works.

Anyway, he was shocking yes, but it's not his fault he was offered stupid money, or that he's picked in the team. Let him get on with it without the boos. Also, as i mentioned in another thread slating him, regardless of a bad game, he did also prevent a certain goal from a corner scramble by throwing himself where it hurts in front of a point blak Kuyt shot after about 10 mins. If they's scored then, the way they were playing they could've done us bya hatful. So some credit to him for that at least, and there was another block from another corner which may have ben him also, where they looked certian to score.

Finally, i don't see any point playing him wide and Derry in the middle. Barton plays better in the middle.

A very average player. Not gelling with the rest of the team at all, but I would love such a player to prove me wrong and save us from relegation before we move him on to greener pastures(from his point of view)

If Barton wasn't so full of himself he might not have got that reception.

He was so bad he should have been subbed before the break.

I didn't boo because I never have and never would.

I think Barton would be the first to say he had a Shite game but who hasn't? at some time or other. At least Hughes had realised and made a change!
As I see it, It´s his attitude towards his team mates and his hillarious use of tweeter which mostly upset QPR fans, not his play on the pitch as such.

Spot on, his performances are getting worse and worse and now we're having to accommodate him on the right side.

I'm still yet to see what he is good at. To me he looks like a very slow, immobile central midfielder that can't play a forward pass to a team mate.
