We can still finish 18th and show the big boys that we can pick up points against them, starting with tonight. This squad would have finished mid-table, no doubt (even with Hughes-a panic appointment if ever there was one-in charge).
You say we are down, and then state we'll show the league what we would have done by picking up points against the big boys, starting tonight! Surely by that logic, we'd also pick up points in the games against weaker teams we have left, and if so quite possibly get enough to survive.
If that's the case, why exactly is it so certain in your mind we will not stay up? Are you really so confident Bolton, Wigan and Wolves will do better than that glowing finale you've predicted for us... i can't see it myself.
But hey, i will remain positive while we are in a winnable battle with those poor sides. If another pulls away i will become less optimistic, but we are level on points with them so it's hardly decided yet. Yes we've been rubbish at collecting points, but you give them too much credit to suggest its obvious they'll outdo us in the run in, regardles of fixtures.

Looking at our run in and if someone handed me £10K to place a bet, I would bet on us getting relegated.
Wolves and Wigan look shocking and far worse than us.
Blackburns back to back wins have given them momentum and at this time of the season, is much needed.
With the recent events concerning Bolton, their season could go either way.
Looking at the bottom 5 - till last night, we had the best goal difference by far.
We have also not really(apart from Bolton and Fulham) been spanked by other teams.
As I see it, we will either go out with a damp fizzle, maybe getting draw tonight maybe at weekend and maybe an odd victory....or maybe the team we have, which looks good on paper, will gel and blitz liverpool...****** up Oniel and get a result against the Gooners.
I think most people/fans willl go with option one and that is where my head is...However, until it is impossible for us to stay up, my heart will always assume that option two will happen.
Looking forward to tonights game...although, i need to get out on time to catch last train home to Folkestone at 11:12,

Ironically I think that is often the mentailty amongst the pessimists on here. They seem to think they are more intelligent. Strange really.
