I think SWP will play and will play well. Liverpools main threat is from the wings and for all his faults, he never fails to put in a shift and it could be important for him to help out Young, which he'll do. HE will also give us pace going the other way.

Taiwo / Traore are both ok at LB for me. I think Traore has more pace so will probably be the option, however, Taiwo's distribution from the back is excellent and he can also get forward like Traore.

If he picks Derry in the middle again we may as well go home. No fault of his, but he should never have played last week as it's a defensive move. also if Gerrard plays he won't get near him, obviously! Barton and diakite must play in the middle. If we are getting overun, or Taraabt is having a bad / sulky game, we need to get him off sooner rather than later and get whoever out of Taiwo / Traore isn't starting on the left.

There's somethign to be had from this game, and at home we need to be on it and at them from the first whistle. Don't let them settle and put them under pressure. I think in a game like this there will be less expectation for us to win, so hopefully the players will play with a bit less pressure and more freedom to do what we know they're capable of.

Dare i say, i also think this could be the sort of game SWP makes a difference. I just want him to get a snap opportunity where he doesn't have time to think / dwell on what he will do with it and just instinctively hit one which will have more chance of going in currently. I think once he gets a goal, he will be so lifted by it that his natural good game will re-surface. It's definitely in there, no matter what many on here repeatedly bore the rest of us with every other day,

Kenny has been a liability of late but can't see him changing. He seems to be rooted all the time and last week when krasnic ran through he didn't even advance beyond his 6 yard line which was ridiculous. Talk about making it easy for him....

I think it would be wrong to drop ill, i know we need someone taller for carrol, but hill has been the best defensively by a country mile at CB

I don't feel Diakite has done anything at all yet to show he deserves a starting place. We are at home and need creativity. Diakite was a liability in the game he got sent off in and even last time he was booked and then fouled twice more. He also went on mazy runs in our danger areas. He needs time to learn as he does have some ability but we don't have to this season for him to learn.

I agree with an earlier poster that Cerny is a better bet than Paddy at the moment.

Hill has done ok i agree, but i think the sooner her can get his preferred back four together the better. We need staility for the run in and less chopping and changing. Hil lhas done well at times but there are still times where i find him lacking and we've sometimes got away with it.
