On Wednesday night I ask all QPR fans and Liverpool Fans to give Webb a standing ovation for the work he did on Sunday and how he took charge. I know that we all not always happy with ref, but this week I ask people not to get on his back and let him ref.

Yes I am, we on there back when they do wrong and this was not any normally game that ref would have been put through. I believe all did a great job from players, managers, fans, and the medical staff. But unlike medical staff the players, ref, managers, players and most fans not trained in dealing with this type of incident.

Ive got to agree with W12 the ref did not do much apart from sheperd the players off
A pat on the back goes to those who implimented the medical procedures now in place at all grounds like having an ambulance on standby and trained medical staff without these the boy would surly not had a chance,

I think it would be a nice gesture because whether Webb played a large part or not, he was there and must have been traumatised by it. I think the posters above putting down your idea are a bit mean spirited on this occasion. I'd certainly join in a round of applause.

He's one of the few refs I actually think is any good at his job.

Agree with the sentiments of the OP - sadly, not everyone sees these things the same way. The interesting thing is, the officials of both Clubs, the FA and the medical authorities have paid homage to Webb and the manner in which he addressed this situation.#standuptocancer
