  • Why do so many seem to think...if we get relegated...

The manager and various players will leave the club?

The manager is the 13th highest paid football manager in the world he is not going anywhere along with this we have a group of players who have failed miserably this season and are on lucrative contracts....who the hell is going to want to sign these players?

The only player who will leave the club if we are relegated is Cisse I'd say the rest will go nowhere unless MH decides to get rid of one like Taarabt because of his attitude problem.

I really do think some of our fans live in cloud cuckoo land....I have seen suggestions like Faurlin leaving next season when he will not even be back to full fitness until Christmas....it is laughable.

I trust the CEO of the club to have been shrewd enough to have negotiated the correct clauses within the players contracts signed if we did get relegated. I also do not think the club would be daft enough to allow players like Zamora to leave unless they received the full funds outlayed.

If we do go down we will have a very strong squad next year and I don't think the club will capitulate as a result. However, if we do not get promoted in the first season back in the NPL then I do believe we are in trouble big time!

Hughes's reputation would be in tatters. Certainly, no major club would show any interest at all until if and when we come straight back up.

Would any other premiership club want SWP?

Taiwo is only on loan fortunately, so no loss there. Not a lot better than Matt Hill.

As W12 says, Cisse is the obviously outstanding talent, based on both current form and his pedigree in general, (other than the injured Faurlin). The one player that would almost guarantee a return straight away. Miles better than anybody else who may be in the Championship. Suppose that means he would be the first to go. Typical, after waiting for so long for a striker of such quality.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on their part.

This i think is also a relevant point we have been told a number of times by TF and PB that the plan may be slowed but it will go on.

Exactly. It's not like we are in the same predicament as Portsmouth. Obviously don't want to be relegated but if we are we can roll up our sleeves and rebuild.

the owners will ask MH to cut the wage bill.. so odds are teams will come in for our players on cheap because we want em off the wage bill.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
                        Lovejoy: "No?!"

Disagree wage bill will be cut when a dozen players out off contract this summer move on, sale off Cisse, parachute payments and the relegation clauses we do have in players contracts....we will be fine.

                            I'm worried.

Sometimes it not just about contracts and money.

I would say vast majority of premiership players only want to play in the premiership, they see it as the pinnacle of their career and simply don't want to be associated with the championship. They may be locked into contracts but they will moan at having to travel to some god foresaken northern club and it becomes destabilising. I agree if we go down and we simply boss the championship like we did last year and the toon before then fine but as soon as 3 or 4 results go bad, can see us implode. Zamora will act like a drip and say his England ambitions are in tatters, SwP step dad will go to Harlington and say we let his son down and tell SWP to get his jacket, homework bag and water bottle and say good bye to his friends but they can have a play date on Tuesday. Few of our players will do the seasonally exchange of going to hammers if they go up and we go down.

As to Hughes I'm more worried about him then then the players, I agree he is on a great salary but he was all about ambition and playing Barnsley on a cold Tuesday night in November doesn't fit the bill. He might stay but I'm not sure he will have the desire or knowledge of getting us up.

Just worried that you go down, certain players and the manager will imho orchestrate moves away, the one player I think will stick it out even though I am constantly critical of him is Joey.

the board are business men therefore will treat the club like a business ok that wont help performances on the pitch but at least it will keep our finances water tight
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front
