Based on players fitness and recent form the back four pretty much picks itself. Onuha, Ferdinand, Hill, Traore.

I miss gorkks,he's class and doesn't surprise me to see reading at the top of championship woth gorkks and Connelly as their cb pairing!
Would love to have them together next year!
Though young onohua Ferdinand Jill an traore should excell in the championship!

Onuoha & Ferdinand didn't really get a chance to bond as a CB pairing. still think they'd be solid. Anton would lead the defence.

Need diakite to sit just in front of them and have the ball going through the centre backs and push the wing backs forward. With adel just behind cisse & Zamora with buzsaky & barton as CM's, I feel this would be a very strong line up.

Diakite not much of a sitter if you haven't noticed...

Connolly was great much of the time in the Championship but you saw at the Emirates his limitations at Premiership level. Wd like to have seen Gorks given a chance tho - we have half a dozen Glen Roeders (OK, poor copies) but not one Steve Wicks. If we had of bagged Samba firmly believe we wd have been a different team.

ferdinand loses concentration at crucial times , gets beaten in the air to easily, but who else have we got. hill is slow not his fault but he is not a premiership defender, noted his last couple of games he has done ok. i dread to think what suarez and carroll could do to us but we live in hope this is a must win game

I think Young is underestimated for the stability he gave us, which got better as the season progressed

He's in for sure so it's Ferdinand and onuoha (or 'onions' as autocorrect wants to call him)
