sky news just reported thats spuds players want cardiac screening
i would have thought thats the norm no?
Apparently not, and ironically enough, the Spurs supporting cardiologist that run on to the pitch to help was already pushing hard to ensure that all clubs get their players tested.

Clearly not hard enough....I mean seriously how much spare time do Pro footballers have to do the tests.
Ok now i'm worried Hughes has just said some of our players know FM and they were a bit flat in training today.Hope it doesn't affect our performance v liverpool.

I'm guessing he won't have to work to hard at it now!
Always the way sadly, that it takes a tragedy before something is done, human nature I guess.
These things do happen quickly, so may not be picked up on these tests, but you'd think that with the money invested in these players, that EVERYTHING possible is thought of.
I'm not going into this as spankwir has said i'm out of order
but hey get yourself all worked up just cause i think something different.
Dave,
This is hypothetical I know, but just bear with me for a moment, while I try to explain.
Occasionally, some really terrible illnesses and even tragic deaths befall some of our posters or their friends or family members. Some posters start threads, maybe because they just want to tell someone, maybe simply looking for some words of support or encouragement.
Just suppose for a moment, you had started such a thread due to some unpleasant event. What you would find on here I am sure, is almoIust all of your fellow posters would be showing their sympathy and support. I know this because I have seen it often enough. Then, just imagine for a second if I were to pipe up, telling everyone to man up and get over it as it's happening all the time and we don't know your friend/relative. And as if to justify my outrageous comments, I then cite a couple of examples of recent tragedies, as if implying that neither you or your fellow posters, give a sh1t about them but are falling over ourselves to be sympathetic towards you. How would you feel about that? And what on earth would you think about me?
I'm not having a pop, I don't hold grudges and I apologise if it appears that I'm waffling. But I just wanted to explain, how that post came across to myself and others. And I don't for one minute think that you wanted it to.
I'm sure deep down, we are all hoping for the best. Even if it is a bit late for Diana.
