  • Rowan Vine - doing the maths

Signed October 2007, on loan, then for £1m, Jan 2008. 4 and a half year deal.

    Wages
    3 and a half years at 15k a week = £2.73m
    1 year on 25k a week (Prem bonus) = £1.3m
    (Bonuses excluded)

    Total wages - £4.03 million
    Total outlay = £5.03 million

    Appearances - 45 starts, 27 sub

    Goals - 9

    So, that's 550k per goal,
    or
one hundred and twenty five thousand replica shirts at £40 a pop.

No wonder football is going bust.

Tough gig this training with the Joeys

To be fair I hated that Pickens but Vine let himself down post injury large style
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.
