  • Thoughts on today's game

    1. Not a bad attendance
    2. How inexpensive our starting line up was
    3. How Balanta seems to have filled out nicely over the summer and looks particularly promising
    4. How Borrowdale was not as bad as many had predicted. As someone that has never managed, Paldini does a far better job than some managers of picking decent players.
    5. Still yet to be impressed by Routledge/Agyemang. Also, Vine looked uncomfortable as an out and out striker.
    6. Impressed with Hall. Thought his passing in particular was very good. Would be unlucky for Stewart to lose his place but our centre backs if you also include Connolly were the success story of 08/09.
    7. Adel needs to be in our team from the start. Every team can afford to carry one player. He will prove to be one of the best players in the Championship this year.
    8. With a number of key players still to come back signing a stiker of the Kevin Phillips calibre could be the difference in getting promotion this year, but we all know that
    9. Great to be spending Saturday afternoons at Loftus Road again. The pitch looked great.
    10. Also, the fans. The doom and gloom merchants seem to be turning slightly more positive once again. Keep it up. We have come a very very long way in less than 24 months. Just compare the squads and you will see that this club is going one way.
    11. Finally, a thought for Bernie, who took the time to come and watch a friendly today. Very interesting how our board have taken a complete back seat during this close season.

    Come on you R's

It's hard to say whether Southampton were toothless, or that Hall and Gorkss had their strikers on toast.

However, the football played was promising and Taarabt's goal was class.

Agree about Dave and HH though. Pellicori looked better in 13 minutes than they did. A shame the cross for his header was too far in front of him so he couldn't direct it.
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are...
