  • interesting fact.

why was it, that in our relatively good run at the beggining of the season, from our opening game against bolton until tottenham away on october the 30th did we lose 4 games by more than 2 goals, plus going out to rochdale by 2 goals in the league cup.

yet since the tottenham game on oct 30th, with exception of man utd at home, every game we've lost since then has been by the odd one goal, all the rest draws.

seems like the defence tightened up, but our goalscoring let us down.
    or
was it a case of scoring enough, and letting in too many.
but whatever it was, something changed.

I said this the other day. Every game bar Man Utd at home, Bolton at home or Spurs away we have only lost by one goal!
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Sorry to remind you if you have blanked it from your memory - Fulham and the small matter of 6 goals.

Ha ha! But Wigan was before the takeover and Fulham was early into the takeover and we had a defence playing out of position.

If our defence has tightened up I'd hate to seet them being loose have ou watched Ferdinand lately looks like a very overated overpaid player at fault for goals at blackburn and Bolton
