i think sir alex would have trouble keeping this lot up! the term settled team is used so many times but in our case it was the one thing we needed! the team at the moment are not playing as a unit and are very disjointed! i think if this squad of players had , had a summer of training together , friendly matches etc and the manager right from the outset of the season had known which 11 to play , what formation to play etc we wouldnt be in a relagation dog fight! we were hamstrung right from the start of the season and both mangers have ben playing catch up ever since! its a real shame really because i think we could under the right conditions have been very comftable this season!

            Ok gonna add my thoughts.
Have sat and tried to think of ways i can blame MH and can't seem to come up with any.
Being a fan of NW i have tried but don't think we can lay the blame at his door, not that i blame Warnock either, it's got to be the players, the ones we brought in.
We never had a team with the ability to be champions last year imo, they achieved what they did with team spirit and togetherness, that was upset with the new guys coming in.
But who at the time criticised the signings?.Not many of us, i certainly didn't.
I think some of the signings have been very disapointing to say the least, but for instance
Joey, has put in the effort getting around the pitch but technically has been poor, which i can't understand, cause it's normally they can't be bothered to put the effort in.
Anyway bottom line can't blame Hughes he inherited a broken dressing room. imo

It is hard to blame the manager, none of the players have performed to the level they are capable of. POTY award is going to be a joke!

Hughes is a seasoned Premier league manager and whilst I have noticed some scathing comments being levelled in his direction and suggestions that Warnock himself could have done a better job I can't see past the players themselves for being at fault for the demise of the season. Warnock in my opinion needed to be replaced and the board acted as quickly as possible to address that situation and it was the right decision. Hughes himself was also the right man for the job and everyone agreed that at the time and I still believe it was the correct decision appointing him.

Hindsight is always a great thing and is easy for us to criticise team selections but up to now the teams what Hughes has fielded in my opinion were about as strong for every game of which was possible. He has been let down by poor discipline on the pitch, poor finishing in front of goal and a complete and total lack of leadership from our Capt

I agree with both posts, I think MH will stay if we go down but also think that we will come back better and much stronger.... That's if we go down!

He said that he has the same ambitions as our board, our board will want to come straight back up.

It sure will be interesting to see what really happens in the summer.

A number of people are talking about a get out clause. I'm sure I saw a report saying MH said that nobody had a get out clause.

Mark Hughes = Roy Keane = Bryan Robson

different name but same style of management.

I was with the fire Hughes brigade Saturday and I think he has to take some blame for our failure since he took over, yes some things have been beyond his control but he signed these new players and although it's early none have made an impact! Everyone in the park could see the Diakite sending off coming and Hughes did nothing, I didn't like him taking Derry off Saturday either even though he wasn't having a great match, it left the back 4 exposed and we were punished! Obviously he is going to see out the season with us, we'll see how it works out!

Was it Hughes who got sent off when we were one up against Norwich then lost? was it Hughes who got sent off when we were one up against Wolves then lost? was it Hughes who hit the post from 2 yards against Everton? Thats 8 points we should of had. Yes Hughes was at fault with Diakite against Fulham but we looked more likely to get something with ten men. Add to that Saturdays inept display by the officials, the wrongly flagged offside strike by SWP against WBA, how we didnt score against Newcastle - None of this was down to the manager - Fernades has stated that he mants a manager for at least 5 years to build the club from the bottom up, we have through Fernandes and the rest of the owners, along with Phil Beard the solid base we have wanted for sooooooooo many years. Think Hughes will be with us next year if only to prove all the doom mongers wrong
