The Bolton performance certainly cannot be classed up their with that produced at Fulham or Liverpool
can't get away from the fact Bolton (one of the poorest sides in this division) have done the double over us with a 6-1 aggregate, fans are entitled to unleash their frustrations out on some of the players, who have basically taken the pi**:rage:
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

    • If you call that a good performance I dread to think what you think of all the other games where we haven't won. At the end of the day this squad should not be where they are in the league. They have under performed and that's why we're heading back to the Championship. Football is a results business.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

      • The only two chances I can recall for Bolton were the two that went in where as we had 17 shots almost double what the home team produced, not bad for a side who played so poorly that the fans felt the need to confront the players.

We hit the bar, SWP had a good chance he should at least have made the keeper work on, we had a goal not given, Mackie missed one on the line, had a pen at the end not given and Barton had a blinding chance to put it on a plate for Cisse who would have tucked it away.

The main stat is we lost and that’s what it comes down too but that performance was no where near as bad as Liverpool away where we hardly got out our own half, Fulham away where we bent over and took it up the A$$E willingly without lube, Man Utd at home or MK Dons away/Chelsea at home in the cup; they were all shocking performances

If you think the performance at Bolton warranted the players being harassed then I fear you will be chasing them for the best part of most seasons as barring the result the performance was not that bad

        • For all those who 'hammered' at the team at Euston, do you think it's fair play to show your faces at the training ground now and give your support -- as personally as you addressed the players earlier?

            The place is called EUSTON.

Looks like 'the incident' worked as the players stepped up their game last night. They wanted it more last night. We haven't seen that application and desire from them in a very long time. Players know certain fans won't accept less than 100%.

What did YOU think of the game last night compared to recent weeks??

More likely they responded despite that discouragement, taking strength from the realisation that most R's fans would prefer to cheer rather than boo - or abuse - them.

We've tried the encouragement thing in the last few weeks and it hasn't worked. Certain players get told a few home truths at Euston and in their next game they deliver!

I know which one for me has worked for the players!

Someone that has previously posted only 3 times before this turns up to have a pop after a great result

                        Very suspect

                        • Where's the pop? Just calling it out the players should get the good cheers in person as they took the bad

They deserved the win, they know the fans are passionate, but just as much is they're understanding MH -- Barton is about to lose his captain's band if he hasn't already simply because he's not playing well. MH has stature, and he has as much to lose as anyone. I don't think he can afford to play anyone but his best 11 now

Regarding suspect -- I've lain low mostly because the last 5-6 years I've gained a new family but have moved 12 times struggling for work, health insurance, the like. I respect Mackie's effort. Never said the given verbal abuse was wrong, though obviously I wouldn't do so--can express anger effectively in a better manner. But I believe the actions at Euston have a certain accountability -- a personal challenge if you will, was given

                            • no way did the Euston incident have a positive affect, ridiculous to link it with last night. Lets not forget how shocking the first 20 mins were last night, could have easily been 3-0 down if Liverpool were not being so casual with their chances.

i said we need to see the reaction, we did..the team tried to keep it together, lpool looked good and we plugged away and won, with barton OFF THE PITCH.
                                all in 18 mins.
