I think by now all of us who take a sensible and pragmatic view on life can see we are relegated.
There will be those who say it's defeatist, wouldn't want you in the trenches blah, blah, blah but the fact is we are down, doomed and feted.
Many would say, as "my word" Ray Wilkins and Gary Ferret Neville did, that this is due to the teams we've got left to play in the run in.
IT'S NOT.
We could be playing all the teams around us and mid table strollers and we'd still be going down.
Why?
It's because, YET AGAIN, we seem to have built a team of gutless, clueless, couldnt care less overpaid to$$erz. Not a leader or winner in sight. We've been here before and it hurts just as much this time.
I would've preferred to have gone down with a squad of up for it young hungry battlers like Jamie Mackie with a couple of older heads seeing if they could have one last hurrah on massively lower money than they would've been on. With a coaching staff at the helm who have empathy for the club, who give up and at 'em interviews and who really are prepared to "give it a right good go".
Instead we have, as our LEADER, (thats CAPTAIN for Christs sake), a man who really could not give a squirrels ar'se for us, the club or football in general. He cannot do basics such as take corners and as both goals today proved he cannot tackle, close down, track a man running off the ball or organise or inspire those around him. For the pleasure of doing this he is taking anything from 60 to 80,000 sheets of your / our money.
We also have players the likes of SWP who is not playing Premiership football.... he's playing hide and seek --- move me central and I'll hide there all day.
We have a Manager who really doesn't seem to know whats going on. The confusion on his face is there for all to see.
I'm afraid to say, Tony and Amit. For as much as I love you to bits and applaud totally what you've tried to do with this club; the buck needs to stop with you guys.
You've sanctioned the £58k a week for Sparky, allowed Warnock to sign flopped or troublesome players and then signed off on Hughes signing lunatics who cant play for the club for 4 weeks as there at the African Cup of Nations and then likely to be suspended every other week. You've given the okay for the striker to score us to safety being Bobby Row Z amora and here we are dropping like a stone from the moneypit of the Prem.
Tony, you spoke with me at length last Saturday and said "stick with us"... I will, of course I will. I just hope you lads can sit down in the summer and learn from your mistakes and improve on your positives of which there are many. I also hope and pray you can stick with us as your £40million January gamble hasnt paid off.
Please make your priorities this summer:-
1. Offload Barton and resolve to never again sign players like him.
2. Bin off SWP, Fitz Hall, Taiwo, Hulse and others who just see you and this great club of ours as a money trough (Vine and Ageymang per chance?)
3. Ask Hughes and his modern day cutting edge methods to politely leave by mutual consent. He's bigger and better than us anyway.
4. Bring in a Manager who cares - and cares top to bottom.
5. Invest in youth and the long term future of this club whilst also looking to bounce back to this gravy train within 2 years.
6. Sign leaders and ambassadors for those blue and white hoops - not these disconnected couldn't care less gits every club seems to end up infested with. They are out there!
Oh and one more....... get rid of that cursed, hideous and disgusting orange kit.
I hate football at the moment but I'll be back - like a lemming us fans keep coming not matter what is served up.
Just imagine how much more you could charge us if we actually enjoyed the match day for 90 minutes?!?!?
