  • My Opinion on Faurlin and Pellcori

Okay no-one has seen anything of Faurlin pre-season, but I have seen him play and this kid is class. Forget comparing him to Ledesma or even Parejo. He is a left footed midfielder who find a pass with ease, will get stuck in and won't dive all over the place like Ledesma.

I rated Ledesma, and if you watched him play first 4-5 games last season he was man of the match and Faurlin is much better. He played 2 great diaginal balls to Routledge and knowing his height that takes some doing and he will be first teamer when fully fit. He will take the corners and will be involved in set pieces and most fans (we will always have negative ones) will enjoy watching him play. Great thing he is an unknown in the championship and the fact Inter Milan wanted to buy him, then loan him out for a season shows they reconised the talent as well. No-way is this kid to be likened to our previous loans and buys from the continent, I have No shadow of doubt that if he and Buzsacky play the majority of games this season, you will not be able to choose between them, he is that good.

In regards to Pellicori, I see him being a squad player, but will be a handful to most defenders. He will score more goals than De Carmine without doubt and will need time to adapt, but will allow us to play a different way if the passing side of things are not working and will be a good target man. I personally feel we should see how things go in regards to scoring goals (in minority), but we have so much flair, I don't see it being a problem. In fact, we will be more adventerous and I can see us conceding more goals than last season, but at least winning games by scoring goals.

Pete, a few questions: do you think Faurlin will play out on the left? If its in the centre with Buz, will he need a holding midfielder as well to do the dirty work or can he do that as well?
Also, I take it the word is not good on Lita, is that right? Any word on the championship left back?
    Cheers.

he will play left side of midfield, but not out wide.

Doubt its Lita, but if anyone knew how much he wanted, they wouldn't bother. Left back and striker could be signed, but my guess they will see how the 4-5 games go first. I'd expect Marshall to sign.

Not privy to negotiations though quite prepared to believe Lita (or at least his agents) are being v greedy. Only thing is if he is being that greedy, who is going to pay what he wants? Palace don't have the money and they've in any case got Stern John now. Leicester were looking to off-load DJ first because by all accounts he is on a pretty good wack too, and if we were the only club in for him then they are struggling there. Boro seem to have gone quiet on Lita, too. That only leaves Sheffield Utd and while the BBC reported they were in for him, if you actually read the story it sounded more like the manager sounding off that it had been impossible to secure a deal because of his wage demands. With the clock ticking down he's got to sign for someone soon (he's already missed all of pre-season) and maybe he will realise he has to moderate his demands. If so, being a London club etc I wd have thought we'd be quite well placed - but maybe that's just wishful thinking. Do you know if we have given up?

im happy we got faurlin and pellicori. from what ive heard from people that have seen them, they seem pretty good.

as for the striker situation, well put it this way signing pellicori may well be a good signing, im happy to have him but cant we just sell agyemang and get lita, no comparison there... pllleeeaaasssseee gianni!!!

no offence pete but i will wait to see faurlin myself before judging. i know u n like u but recently ur posts give the impression u are just being positive for the sake of it and u are a spin doctor under orders from the club. now i am 99.99% that is not the case but pleae top trying to be falsely positive bout everyfin cos it gets a bit sickly. just seems like ur opinions are no longer ur own,and u are trying to have an answer for everyfin. im always positive but hearing things like connolly at lb and selling top scorer for unknown eyetie with pretty woeful record is making me kind of disillusioned and less upbeat about things

says the man who cried over Dowie.

I have given alot of negatives you just have to read them.

Faurlin is definitely not a negative.

Not been to complimentary about Vine, Helgusson and Ageymang pre-season for example

Selling Blackstock is not something I wanted either, but this guy is not a replacement.

Never seen Faurlin but his previous club and fans speak very highly of him....Called the magician at his old club. Also if he is a JM & JG signing I have trust in them.

                    We've had a pretty good pre-season.

positives have been Hall, Balanta, Faurlin and Routledge.

negatives have been for me Ageymang, helgusson, Hogan, Leighterwood and a little negative regards Vine.

                    Thats balanced for you

didnt cry over dowie, but was a big mistake sacking him. IMO we would of gone up with dowie, even if it was ugly. Also dowie hasnt got nufin to do with what i said?! i said that playing our best cb at lb and replacing our top scorer with an unknown eyetie is not much to be positive about?!

whats wrong with Borrowdale, please do tell me.. You read too much and rely on what other say about him. Thats the big problem.

Pellcori is not a replacement for Blackstock !! he is an addition to the squad

I thought Hider apart from his goal against kettering was awful!! not going to take his goal away from him though good finish.

Borrowdale didnt look out of place played at CB v kettering, him and stewart dealt with there massive lump up top well IMO
