As much as we might play better against the top sides only beaten 1 & drawn with 1 of the top 7
beaten Chelsea and what a mess ther're in and drew with newcastle at home.
Lost to Man city,Man utd,Liverpool Newcastle Arsenal & Spurs. Not so sure on your optimisum but we live in hope!
Dave, we have a lot of home games to play, plus we do tent to raise the bar against higher clubs and we were unlucky with man city/liverpool and arsenal etc..
I guarantee you, the teams below will not reach 32 pts. ;-)
32 will be enough even 29 but 3 other clubs have to get less though and we'll be fine
Seriously I think we will get more than 32 points, 36-39 I think we'll get and safety
Which games do you see us winning then?
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!
Check the history books, a couple of teams at the bottom always get a run of form at the end of the season and pick up unlikely points, this year will be no different. I'm certain that nobody will be staying up on 32 points.
Agree, but there's not usually 5 teams that have been so woeful at collecting points as per this season. I think there will be teams that pick up, and think they will be us and Blackburn. Although i don't neccesarrily think 32 will be enough, i wouldn't be surprised if it is.
Think there is too much expectation about three points. Most teams at the bottom aren't picking up any points, period. After Everton I'm slightly more confident that we have enough under Hughes to grind out a series of draws and imo that might just be sufficient. We finally have a full squad (Faurlin aside) and hopefully players have been told in no uncertain terms to avoid stupid red cards. Yes we have a lot of tough fixtures but Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool are all at home. Possible to get three points out of those. The only fixtures where I'd be amazed if we got anything is away to the two Manchester clubs and possibly Chelsea (who knows how they will respond to recent upheaval). Key thing is to avoid defeats and in particular heavy ones that bust morale and goal-difference. Since Fulham ages ago we haven't been tonked by anyone but most of our rivals have. We are well drilled now and think we have enough to look competitive against all but the top two.
The main thing is that the team start to make an effort and avoid stupid mistakes. So far this has cost us far too many points. People keep saying that we are unlucky. I think that we are actually lucky in that there are teams in the premiership this season which are not really premiership standard. If this was not the case we would already be down. There is still time for us to improve and the players should have now had time to gell and hopefully the results will follow. Also people complain of players being injured, this again is something which happens with every team and this is why you need 25 good players.
