How much credit can Derry take from this week's improved team performance? Do we need him more than we thought after all? I thought his constant talking on the pitch was a major factor that we might have been missing recently - certainly could have done with him helping Diakite through the game last week and maybe in future too.

If we could morph Derry and Barton together to combine Derry's character and leadership qualities with Barton's workrate and ..err ... workrate, we might get a top quality captain

Then again we might get a captain who's legs are shot and still can't pass or take set pieces
