Hard to see why it's so bad... less games this season and an alleged drought too?? It's bad enough rest of league laughing at our small capacity without having to fend off criticsm of playing surface too.
there is actually a case for this for the lower league teams.
Nowadays games are called off more readily due to poor conditions, so in yesteryear when a game would have gone ahead on a soaked pitch, now it's called off.
However, the lower teams haven't had the ability to improve their pitch, so they are getting more games postponed a season - therefore loosing more money each time.
i'd agree with it. UEFA never banned it, so it's allowed in europe. just our FA decided it's a no go.

Plus it has advanced now, spurs played a team in europe last season on a pitch which they said was like grass, and gave a truer bounce than sometimes given on grass pitches.
There was something recently from Peter Hucker (not sure where, tv or web) re him saying in the past he used to get burns every week but he has now seen the new astro turf and it really is just like grass, different fibres.
There is talk of it being re-used by clubs soon, who knows we may have it back at LR.
Queens Park Rangers
NPower Champions 2010/2011
PREMIER LEAGUE 2011 - ETERNITY (Oh well got that wrong, we'll be back though)
Sorry...how does a "artificial / synthetic" pitch give a truer bounce than a grass pitch?
not sure i understand...are we saying its more like grass than grass?!
I am only stating what has been said but all I can summise they mean is a more regular bounce(for example same type of bounce rather than irregular when pitches are uneven).
Slate them not me, wasn't my wording.
