No, it's not encouraging. But these are professional players, not a youth team. If you are 100 % focused on the match, you can shout your team mate, but be best friends after the game.

Taking his history into account - I doubt he is the sort of loveable character that you could just be "best friends" with after the game.

But surely a leader (if that's what Barton's supposed to be) should be encouraging his team mates during the game 'unlucky, well done etc' rather than shouting them down, it's counter productive, ffs even i know that.

I would think he is a very strong character with many best friends, but this would be speculation.

Would personally appreciate more an encouraging leader. But many of those great captains in the Premier has had arguments with team mates during the match.

Well, if I missed a sitter and captain Barton said ''unlucky, well done, better luck next time'', my reply to him would be F*ck off!

But in the case of Adel, he has a go at him all the time, at least he is trying to create things rather than sideways/backwards passes,

Haven't seen Taarabt been too upset about that? And recall Adel giving a go a couple of times at his team mates last year.

And how would you respond when a player that plays poorly in many games, including giving the ball away constantly, even leading to opponents scoring, screams abuse at you every time you make a mistake?

Doesn't stack up does it? Lead by example and then you have earned the right to shout at everyone.

Would be upset, but what has this to do with Barton?
