  • White Horse after the game

Anyone know why there was a notice on the front door saying it would not open until 8pm?

    Was it Police instructions?

Ended up in the Shepherd and Flock to watch the 2nd half of the Rugby and have to say it was a great atmosphere in there

Very strange but foolem would have been nothing to do with it for two reasons.
    1. Not a classy enough establishment for them.
    2. They're not old enough anyway.

I left the boozer about 12.45 and the old bill was at the front door saying that because they hadn't organised door staff they had to close etc etc. I thought pubs have to pay for those kn*bs with yellow arm bands on? I pressume they didnt fancy paying it and thought they would do it themselves cos they always seem to be vetting who goes in and out?

correct no Doorman no pubs in the bush within a certain radius of the ground allowed to open without doorman. if they were worried about the money thay were going to lose they could have hired one in because he weren't there lunchtime either

They had doormen, but no doorman licence. The knobs with clipboards came in about 12-ish and told him he had to shut.

Police only like easy targets and they would not want to evict a pub full of fans

Easiest option is wait until everyone has left for the game and then close it!!

Real shame as its an excellent pub and all small local buisinesses deserve all the help they can get in the current financial climate but the council and police seem to be on another planet
