  • The People have it spot on.

Sorry-for some reason I can't provide a link, but basically they're saying that player for player,QPR have more quality than any of the other four clubs marooned at the bottom, yet they look less of a team than anybody in the top flight.
For me,I can't see where the next points are coming from, and if MH persists in changing tactics, there's only one way we are going.Playing SWP in the middle,Mackie on the right and Jay Zamora,or is it Bobby Bothroyd (I can't tell the difference-yes I did mean to confuse their names) as a loan striker when at home to the likes of Fulham, beggars belief.Neither can jump higher than 6 inches and both are punching well below their weight.
I know its been said before, but MH should have subbed Diakite immediately following his first yellow card. It was insane for him to leave him on.Be afraid,be very afraid the trap door looms.I'm amazed that Shearer thinks we will avoid the drop - has he seen our run-in?
If you get a chance to see Dave Kidd's match report in the People, its worth a read and sums up our plight exactly.

The article also states that Barton struts about the place achieving little except winding up Adel,SWP is the only 5'5" player to have visibly shrunk in stature, and Zamora is wearing the expression of Wile E Coyote, when the Road Runner has just fooled him into dashing off a cliff.

Player for player we are better but that is only our first Xi. Outside of that I think we drop quite a bit. Commitment and effort is not the problem. Barton and SWP put a shift in every game. Barton didn't have a bad game yesterday, SWP did but he was playing centre mid??? I liked the look of diakite and think he could prove to be an excellent addition. Zamora is quality but he needs Cisse alongside him. Adel is working hard so can play left mid or even right mid if we drop SWP. After Everton, i'd go for

      Kenny
      Onuoha, Hill, Ferdinand, Taiwo/Traore
      Adel/SWP,Barton,Diakite,Troare/Adel
      Cisse, Zamora

That Xi has enough quality to get the points, I don't care who we're playing. They just need to raise their game and keep Xi on the pitch.

problem is Wigan have now not lost in 3...and got 5 points from the last 3. What have we got to show for it? Nothing else but excuses.

          Agree. however after the everton game, I would like to see this Vs Bolton;

          --------------Kenny----------------
          Young---Onuoha--Ferdinand---Taiwo
          SWP-----Barton---Diakite----Taraabt
          ----------Cisse---Zamora-----------

Not sure who were going to put out against toffees, but not confident of anything from that game!

The problem is poor home form all season, combined with ill discipline at home with 5 sendings off, 2 of which definitely cost us nailed on 6 points and yesterday cost us quite possibly 1 or 3 as the game was far from from over as the 2nd half with 10 men proved.

That has led to us being where we are today which in turn has increased pressure, which in turn has affected performances of individuals for the worse, leading to more pressure etc etc. Its a viscious circle and were are just going round.

The only positive at present is that its not just us having a shocker, but 4 other teams also. Add to that when we (finally) have our first choice 11 on the pitch we will have a very good team that I'd be confident would win more points that our rivals. That said, all 5 teams have been so poor I think this year it may be a record low points tally that will keep the 17th placed team in the division, which could definitely work in our favour.

We just need to avoid the drop, draw a line under this season and then I think we will be fine for years to come, but that's looking like a harder task every week due to our own players' stupidity week after week!

Well, Del, I think you accused me of being 'clueless' in another thread (perhaps because I believe we could have got players in early in the transfer window that would have done a job for us) but you talk a lot of sense here with your comments. The only difference between us on your post here is that by the time we are a very good team, I think it will be too late.

I don't like sweeping statements.... I'd suggest our rivals have a better keeper than us. I'm not having a dig at Paddy but Alhabsi, Jaskaleineinenenen and the ex-England bloke at Rovers have more aura/presence about them I think.

I think Blackburn will get out of it and Robinson is one of many good players they have that make me think that. Wigan and bolton have good keepers but far less quality everywhere else on the pitch, also Wolved imo will go down.

And Bushkangaroo, the clueless comment was about suggesting we should be putting feelers out about getting Warnock back for next year.
