Good with ball at feet, but couldn't tackle. Mind you, Faurlin doesn't tackle either

Overkeen, but I really rate him. Hughes management of him is at question over this.

Barton should have given him the winker sign, that would have calmed him down!

Looked impressive on the ball, but could have been sent off 2-3 tackles earlier. Needs to stay on his feet more. Still, he cuts that out and he'll be a class player for us.

I assume you are saying this tongue in cheek, as the OPTA stats still show Faurlin as being one of the most (if he isn't still the most) successful tacklers in the Prem?
Diakite did put in a few successful tackles yesterday as well. Perhaps they can make use of Faurlin while he's sidelined to give Diakite advice.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Once he was booked Hughes should have Hooked him off ,he was fired up and it was only a matter of time before he'd get sent off! the ref almost looked apologetic but had no choice? he made 3or 4 rash challenges before and inbetween the booking and sendiing off, but must admit looks like he's got a bit about him.

Just looked the game again from tape. He did calm down after his yellow! Did not tackle in 5 minutes and played this section very good football, including setting Taarabt his best strike, so very harsh to blame Barton or Hughes not to take him off. He actually had only one foul after his yellow before he got the second and got sent off.
                  And Barton did play ok.

                    Same here.
I know with hindsight, it was probably wiser to sub him, but I would have been tempted to leave him on, and as his English is supposed to be poor, maybe instructions for him to calm down a bit, came from the bench, but got lost somehow in translation.

I think he looked good, fantastic first touch, excellant distributer of the ball and very powerful going forwards. I think once he has realised that he isnt playing the ACN anymore and every tackle doesnt have to be GBH, he could be an excellant player in the essien mould.

And Faurlin not tackling? Seriously WTF?

Sorry to say I told you so, but I stated in an earlier post that he could have problems with yellow and red cards. He has a habit of getting booked nearly every match and has already been sent off at least once this season (and he has not played too many matches). Cisse was unfortunate, he has a much better disciplinary record. I think he has only been sent off once before in his whole career.

yes he was rash but he had to make too many tackles as was being exposed time and time again, looked a good ball palyer and yes we all called the sending off but would have ben a hard call
playing the 4 1 4 1 didnt woork cos think to many thought they could forget about the defensive side
