What is the connection here between re-building, colour, and classrooms? I hope we've got relegation clauses that mean players wages will drop if we do.

A disgraceful thread. Our club has a long tradition of employing black players, one of whom was our greatest ever striker (Les Ferdinand). W12_Ranger's argument that 'we shouldn't have many black players because they are 'rudeboys'' is severely flawed, ignorant, bigoted and dated in its outlook. How does one define a 'rudeboy', out of interest? Presumably you all celebrated Ishmael Miller and Wayne Routledge's crucial goals against Leicester and Reading last season? The notion that 'black people are less developed mentally' is also shocking - it's an accusation that belongs in Nazi eugenics. In addition, the point that 'one third of black people stay with their children' is linked with socio-economic issues rather than race (I'm sure in some incredibly poor white working-class communities the statistics are similar. In fact I read an article the other day about a white man who has impregnated twelve different women). Some of the people who have commented on this thread were no doubt condemning John Terry for racism. How utterly hypocritical. The arguments on this thread can be picked apart by anyone with a degree of knowledge about science, politics and the history of Queens Park Rangers FC. A truly embarrassing discussion - some of you should be ashamed.

There does appear to be an element that wants their opinion to go unchallenged, and it does tend to be those that hold the more extreme opinions, in this case, some ridiculous tarring of the entire african continent and black people being called a f***ed up race.
Edit : We even had a poll a little while back in a contentious thread about gay footballers. The poll showed an overwhelming vote in favour of accepting a gay footballer at QPR, but there was still one person claimin that the poll was wrong and unrepresentative of QPR fans in general, and society as a whole. Some people will not have their opinion changed, no, but that doesn't mean everyone must remain silent when they air it.Last edited by DeepcutHoop; 26-02-2012, 04:25 PM.

I said earlier, free speech, such as it exists in this country should be treated with respect, and if you're likely to cause great offence by what you say, you should be thinking twice before saying it. If you do say it anyway, be prepared to explain it, or deal with the repurcussions.
Also consider that this public messageboard is not your front room, or the pub with your mates surrounding you. This is someone else's place and you should treat it with the same respect you would in any public forum.
