I think white non british players can fit into this balance very well.

Its strange really when you think about it because a higher % of black players in a squad would be more off a problem IMO over a higher % of white. I really do think it changes the dynamics off a changing room in football in this country.

It was only a matter off time before this debate would crop up on here but I think its relevant.
W12 Ranger I think that you are right it is a relevant and interesting discussion to have.

But I am gob smacked by your argument. To suggest all black or mixed race players are rudeboys is in my view wrong. Are any of our non white players anymore rudeboys then Rowan Vine or Stephen Ireland??? I too would be concerned with filling our squad with rudeboys just as much as I would be weary of filling it with white, asian or south american players with the wrong attitude and work ethic

Your argument does appear one simply based on colour rather then how different players interact. Fairly confident that if we replaced all our black players with should we say polish players that all the polish players would stick together as would the white British players that remained

In my humble opinion its not about balance rather the attitude of the individual. If a player is willing to work hard, learn and back up his team mates and more then anything have the right attitude his background is irrelevant.

If I had the choice of 5 Rowan Vines or 5 Armand Traore’s I know what I would choose

If you are below the age of 40 and went to an inner City school in London you'd know why I say that.

Well this is an intelligent thread. Presumably informed by people who've been to China, Africa, India or have their world view formed from sat on their #### at Loftus Road?

Arsenal didn't seem to have too many problems with players of African origin such as Viera and Henry. Nor Chelsea with Henry and Drogba. Newcastle aren't doing so bad with Cisse and Ba up front. Most committed players on the pitch in recent games.

Karl Ready getting paid handsomely, driving a Rolls Royce and turning up to games in riding trousers and a tweed jacket; John Spencer collecting a massive salary, giving it the large one and not giving two hoots. A player's attitude has nothing to do with their continent of origin. Look at Bendtner - lazy, arrogant, ostentatious, on a charge for vandalism and by rights should be African if the racial profiling facts fit.

The problem with Diakite was indiscipline and naivety. The management have to take responsiblity for that. No different from Barton getting sent off or some hotheads we've had in the past like Gavin Maguire or Vinnie Jones.

If the hypothesis about Chinese and Indians being industrious and hard working rings true then where are their world class footballers? ;)

on the subject of black/half chat footballers being good enough?disruptive?forming cliques etc etc we,ve not won the world cup since we picked a player of colour....now im only kidding that its the players of colours fault but what will lefties have to say and will the right entirely agree? and who really gives a t~~~ and only care about the R,s?

Things not going well so blame the ethnic minorities? Wow.

Football really is a microcosm of society.

For those wanting more white British players, like who? How about our captain who's done time? Or a member of the Terry Family, or I know how about that Lee Hughes he seems like a good lad.

Numpties there are good and bad people in every elk of life it's not about skin colour.

What has upset me about the views of some contributors is that they appear to be judging a person by the colour of their skin -totally irrelevant in a mature society -which is what wev'e got - and three cheers for that. Having watched MOD, Samba was clearly fired up -I think he could be a star when he calms down a bit. One of my work colleagues is from Mali -she is highly qualified, teaches business studies. her sons are gifted musicians, grade A students with Oxbridge potential. As far as I know, they are rubbish at football -race is nothing to do with it -its all about the individual.

i dont particularly think its a race thing, maybe?? however there is a current class of person in this country who either think they should be famous, want to be famous, are famous! for having no reason for it. the amount of young people i work with who have all left school with no exams etc who want to be singers/ rappers / artists, they cant even frigging sing or play an instrument. I didnt do that well at school myself but i was willing to graft when i got out of it. probably a generalisation but thats how i see it

                            Mind boggling isn't it.

Some not only tar a race with the same brush, but an entire continent.

In this thread it seems to some that it is specifically a race thing.

You are correct that to some youngsters there is an element of needing to be famous, but not necessarily as a result of something tangible. Notoriety and celebrity, not earned by being outstanding enough at something to be publicly recognised for it, but just to be famous.

That's why there's an absolutely overwhelming number of reality shows, and fly on the wall documentaries that people are happy to take part in regardless of how bad they are going to appear. At least they're on the telly.
''I'm famous, so I must be important.''

The rest of society is partially to blame, because we'll sit there watching, laughing at them and feeling smug & superior, because our lives are not quite as shitty, all the while feeding their lust for celebrity.

                              Vicious circle tbf

Have to say, as a teacher, some of the laziest children I've taught in recent years have been the white children, both boys and girls. The Afro Caribbean children are generally pushed very hard by their parents to do well, and those parents love the traditional type of education more than modern methods.
Perhaps it varies in areas with a different ethnic make-up?
