favourite away game

i think a ground that i always loved was griffin park,the first game i watched was the destruction of qpr we got done 6-0 or 6-1
that wasnt much of a game
the next time i visited there ground was for the tommy higginson testimonial, and that game has been very well documented as the worst riot in our history,so i suppose that game could be described as a shame
but then there came a massive gap when we didnt play them for so many seasons
untill ofcourse that period of time that we dropped to the third division,but as soon as i went to griffin park all those memories came back,of when qpr had a terrible ground,its roof was legendary because it had all this corrugated iron on the roofs of the ellerslie and the loft,and when the ball was punted up in the air which was usually when tony hazell played, the ball would crash down onto the top of the stands and everybody would get all these rust particles going down your kneck ,when you got home you needed a hot bath to get the rust out of your skin,but i dont know if anybody went to the stan bowles testimonial,and rodney played what a match that was,but generally i think its fair to say that qpr fans always seem to turn up in big numbers at griffin park,i think its a massive plus that the brentford fans dont seem to be out to create a big fight,they may say they hate rangers but its only a bit of banter

i think my second favourite ground was watford unlike the unfriendly luton lot the watford always seemed to let us drink in there pubs in perfect harmony there was a few exchanges in the early days,but then there seemed to be a lot of quite friendly games,so watford is my second favourite ground

third favourite

third favourite is wycombe wanderers,because it reminds me on the days at loftus road when there only used to be 5000 attendences,those were the days,we could only dream of getting into the second division we had only done that for 4 seasons,the rest of our history was spent in the third division
but because there used to be third division north and third division south we were spared the fourth division,but if there had been a fourth division we would have spent many years in the fourth,we were no more than a club like stockport county we had no support ,no money,no future other than the third and second divisions
then of course came jim gregory and with him came the ambition the obsessive almost insannity to get qpr up into the top flight,then of couse also came the greatest ever player to play for qpr
THE GREAT RODNEY MARSH 44 GOALS FIRED US TO WIN THE DIVISION AND WE WIN OUR ONLY 100 000 FAN WEMBLEY FINAL THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER RODNEY,ALTHOUGH FERDINAND IS THE GREATEST EVER STRIKER TO PLAY FOR QPR,ONLY RODNEY MARSH JIMMY GREAVES AND GEORGE BEST

actually benny i think that is a good call back in 68-69 when everybody lived in fear of some of the london sides,ie millwall west ham chelsea tottenham and qpr
but the norfolk and suffolk fans of ipswich and norwich,seemed to generally like the londoners we would go to these places to find young females waiting to try and chat up the fashion concous londoners
and its fair to say the old carrott cruchers seemed to genuinly like us of course as time evolved ,there was some trouble,but the hatred didnt seem to be anything like that of places like grimsby

I always remember Ipswich away in the cup 0-0 on a icy pitch prob late 80's early 90's,when we started climbing the fences at the end of the game and the replay got naughty as well. Apart from that i did enjoy going to Highbury and there always was a buzz when we went to Charlton

Used to love Highfield road too. Can't stand going to the Ricoh now though, lifeless place.

Palace away is always a class day out for me. I hate them with a passion.

Always like going to Spurs. We take a decent amount, and the banter is preetty good, without being over the top. Not too difficult to get to either.

the palace away ground was special for that time we played wimbledon there in the cup,old hately scored that day
but i was in doors and i had no intention of going then at ten o clock in the morning the man on the tele said mass hysteria has broken out 16 thousand rangers fans are pouring into selhurst park for the cup game against wimbledon
my landlord was a chelsea fan and he looked at me,i looked back at him
and shouted
UUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSS SSSSSSSSS
that was it folks i was on my way driving all the way to selhurst with no ticket
and what a day there was rangers everywhere,they had a massive fight in a pub between rangers and rangers ive never been able to find out what that was about,it was pandemoniom,although they reckon 16 000 unofficially i think it was 18 000,also there was hundreds of rangers without tickets who didnt go in,ill never forget that memory

anybody who missed the millenium game missed an incredible journey once more i didnt have a ticket but on the day i thought i would drive up to the first services and see if i could buy one and sure enough i did just that but ive never seen so many rangers fans on that.....M4 it was such an amazing site,the rangers that poured out of the stadium at the end of the match were in a furious mood,and 4 cardiff fans who stood there giving the rangers various handsignals which were all very insulting,wished they had thought of something else to do

Now that was a day,we had parked in a multi storey opposite Cardiff Prison and after many scuffles in the town centre on the way back we had an avalanche of abuse from the boys shouting through the bars of there cell windows "Going up going up going up" they sang bashing there Tea cups on the bars,and after40 mins of barracking each other the cars started to move so the last rendition of "Were going home were going home your not your not" made the journey home quite amusing
