I do think that it's a shame that some feel the need to use blatantly unpleasant and derogatory remarks against other people, be that in relation to their sexuality, skin colour, religion etc.

I also feel that some people are criticised unfairly for being rather "undiplomatic", when in actual fact, all they are doing is trying to have a bit of a laugh.

Are you implying that because a lot of his mates are gay, he should be in some way embarrassed about it.

My stepdaughter, not only shares a house with a very nice young gay bloke and not that I'm keeping count, but I would hazard a guess that the majority of her circle of friends are indeed gay. In fact, having met many of them, I can attain to the fact that they are all just very nice people.

But then again, I'm not the type to feel "threatened".

It happens on all sides though mate, derogatory remarks i mean, Asian, and Black people do have jokes about white people based on sterotypes and skin colour.
Btw you do give balanced & fair views so think of yourself more as sitting on one of them tall chairs at wimbledon, than fences

This thread has already triggered several complaints and at least one very decent poster is thinking of leaving and frankly neither me nor other mods think that allowing this thread to continue in the same predominantly derogatory manner towards gay people would be of any use to this forum as a whole, leaving aside a few argumentative egos. So a chosen few will be tempted, as usual, to engage in mock lamenting and mod lambasting as this thread is now locked, but I do not advise testing the mods' patience at this particular point in time.
