Perhaps we shouldn't be so surprised at his lack of scoring prowess.According to the Mail this morning,he appears to be Chelsea's third most expensive striker at £21m,behind £50m Torres and £31m Shavchenko and with only 10 goals in 125 games, easily the worst goals per game ratio at 0.08.Add the fact that he seems to have lost the ability to cross the ball (a la Dave Thomas) what does he offer us? With hopefully a more potent strike force in Cisse and Zamora,we need now more than ever, good old fashioned wing men who know how to cross a ball. There's no doubting SWP's effort and dribbling ability, but with games running out,we need more than that.

    Indeed.
With games running out fast, we need every player that MH fields to give us all the maximum of effort.
Anything less will be utterly disgraceful, and should not for an instant be tolerated.

Since when has he ever been a striker?

You have a point Benny. The comparison that the Mail on Sunday is giving,is a list of relative failures which also includes Mutu,Veron,Sutton,Kezman and Winstone Bogarde who refused to leave and cost the club £10m in wages for 12 appearances,as well as the previously mentioned Torres,Shavchenko and SWP.

SWP is a strange player, he does everything that should end in him being called a great player but its the last most important, pass, touch , shot that he constantly fails with.
