Do we have a full named 25 man squad ? If so he cannot play unless there is a free space. Found this rule.


9) Clubs do not have to name a full squad of 25 if they do not have that many contracted players and in this case they can add free agents outside the transfer window. However if they have 25 eligible contracted players, they must be named.

We named a full 25 i'm pretty sure.

So as Matty said, and said on another thread about him, this is pointless as can't play until next season, therefore, if interested, sign him in the summer and avoid 6 months of what would be a very high salary to entivce him no doubt....

Tbf I imagine a lot of footballers are the same these days; comes from being paid way too much and being told theyre the best thing since sliced bread by their "advisors" from the age of about 15.

I may well be wrong, but cant imagine there's too many decent blokes playing footballer in the PL anymore.

Shame we included Hulse in the 25. Imagine if we cd bring Ballack in what a difference he wd make to the class of our midfield. As that thread about Joey's passing stats showed the other day, we cd really do with someone who can step on the ball, find that yard of space and make the killer pass. Like Wilkins was for us. But as already said it isn't possible to sign him. We just have to hope that Diakte's tackling and running ability gives Joey more space to do a bit more with the ball creatively.

cant see him leaving before the end of the season. theyd surely have to give him compensation and that will be a minimal fee based on his wages
