Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton comes off second best in manager Mark Hugh
Akos did well... I'd like to see his stats from other games.
It would be great to see stats of the whole team, but also stats don't tell the whole story. They don't include things such as leadership/organisation, and some players might be more creative so take more risks so have lesser stats, but their actual contribution to vital incidences may be good.
I think we all know Barton needs to improve a lot, hopefully he will do so in this vital run-in.
Agree stedders they don't tell the whole picture but 50% pass rate really isn't on is it. Not exactly leading by example either is he.
And leadership - Barton, seriously?

Stats can be used in different ways and the don't tell the whole picture. But they do tell you something. And these numbers just confirm that Joey is all Tweet and no Feet.
Stats can be meaningless. A player could only ever pass safely backwards and sideways all game, create absolutely nothing but get very high completion "stat". Yet other creative players will often look to thread a pass through the eye of a needle to create chances and on many occasions it might not come off, yet on a couple of occasions it could. Result is their pass completion "stat" would be worse, yet they'd have 2 assists and have been far more valuable to the team.... what's more important?
HOWEVER, with Barton, he does try to spread the ball all over the pitch so you can allow some misplaced passes, but what you can't forgive are the sloppy 10-15 yard passes that go straight to the opposition, such as his gift for Carrick against Man Utd. Absolutely shocking pass which should never happen and he's done it on many occasions.

Very good points, the truth is we as fans see the what really happens just watching the game, ok not all the stats but the ones that count.
I don't think we should slate players on stats though as like you say there are different kinds of passing.

Or the wayward pass against Wolves that led to the equaliser 30 seconds into the 2nd half.
The most interesting aspect of this story is that it has come out. Does Hughes think Barton is too big for his boots and wants to put him in his place?

Good point... maybe a cheeky way of motivating him without directly confronting him.
I think the issue we have now is the same as 3 seasons ago (or 4?) in the Championship - we don't have enough leaders in the team. We can look at all the stats we like, but with proper leaders all over the pitch I think it makes a huge difference. How many actual leaders do we have...
Hill, Derry, Helguson, maybe Barton (I am not sure), and two of those are not first choice and Heidar is injured. If we think back to our best days in the Premiership, we had Macca, Bardsley, Wilkins, Barker, Ollie, to name a few.

The thing with leadership is that it only works properly if you are a performer. I think most of us know that Derry is a level out of his depth in the PL, so it's hard for other players to look to him for leadership and inspiration.
Although I never wanted Joey as Captain - he should be a leader and has not been that on or off the pitch.
Imo it was a big mistale for Warnock to give him the armband in the first place. He already thought he was billy big b0ll0x and then Warnock gives him the armband, when he's not been captain before (that i know of) so no credentials, combined with the fact he is wreckless personality in general.
I think by doing so he possibly undermined even himself, by almost saying to Joey you're the main man at the club now.... He then saw fit to fuel Barton's ego further by stating in every interview for weeks that "If he were anyone else other than Joey Barton, he'd be playing for a top 4 club"... hmm yeah right Neil.
Probem with Joey is he is a bit of a narcisist - its all about "me" with him. Am sure if we went down he wd try to walk away as if our relegation was nothing to do with him.
