I can just imagine what the debate would've been like after Hoilett ripped him a new one and he'd quite likely have given away a pen with a clumsy "forwards tackle" in the box.

'ARRY WOULD HAVE SEEN US ALRIGHT IF WARNOCK HAD STAYED, AND AT LEAST GIVEN US A REALISTIC CHANCE OF STAYING UP. TRAGEDY IS, IF THOSE CLOWNS HAD SOLD THE CLUB A FEW WEEKS EARLIER AND GIVEN US TIME TO START THE SEASON WITH A REASONABLE SQUAD, WE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IN THIS POSITION NOW. BEFORE THE CLOWNS LEFT i COULDN'T SEE US US FINISHING HIGHER THAN MASSIVELY ADRIFT IN 20TH PLACE. NOW AT LEAST WE MIGHT FINISH A RESPECTABLE 18TH (AND HAVE A GENUINELY REALISTIC CHANCE OF PROMOTION NEXT YEAR).

I don't talk as though Hoilett is a world beater at all, only a good prem Winger (who many on here were hopeful we'd sign last month by the way) who would simply relish the chance of playing against a forward playing out of position at right back, as any decent winger would.
Out of interest please explain what Makes anyone think Mackie would be a good full back....? If he did win the ball back he'd probably try to beat 3 men and lose the ball on the edge of our box. no thanks.
The irony here is that on the Taiwo thread you were slating MH for playing and internationlly regarded LB because he may not have played many games this year, and then suggest he should've played a forward at full back in this thread, who's maybe played there about 20 mins in his whole career.....
Also as for Fitz.... was it not Ferdinand that got turned inside out by Yakubu for their goal.....??Last edited by Del; 16-02-2012, 02:33 PM.

I would suggest that's a slating.
Anyway, i'm not saying it's not a valid argument because it is, but imagine the comments had he played a forward at RB and we'd then lost.... he would've gotten castigated!
Also Onuora is never questioned even though 2 goals came from his side... people have instead chosen to blame Taiwo and now Hall. Is Onuora untouchable or something.... are people worried about criticising him as he might run back to mummy or something?

If NW was still here, we would be exactly where we are right now....STRUGGLING.
Last season we didn't have the best players in the division, that has become abundantly clear this year. The reason? Last year these players had something special... an unbreakable team spirit, that got them through games that we were losing before.
This season we went into the market as we had to but that has upset the spirit
of last season, because we were too late and needed more in august.
But i do think once we lost that spirit NW couldn't stop the rot, but for me you have to ask yourself did Joey Barton contribute more in a bad way to this club than a good way.I think Warnock will always regret signing him.Just my opinion
