    Agree.
As soon as any thread got 'interesting' a mod closed it and the op got banned.

Over moderation totally, had a few DMs 'telling me off as it were' but have never been banned but if I were I would never return on principle.

I think WATRB's is a good forum it's certainly does well in term of traffic and I'm sure the google adverts generate a few quid towards the running of the site.

But I do think the site has suffered Pete no longer posts as so many fans turned on him.

The site did not cover it's self in any glory by handing over personal information of a poster to the club.

I also strongly object to the double standards on this site, I had my avatar changed promoting my own site from www.1882qpr.com to www.1883qpr.com which was extremely petty.

One mod on here deemed it fine to have a dig at me regarding something non football related if I had done the same then I would probably of faced a ban.

I'd also say social media has really taken off now.

The 1882 facebook page has nearly 700 members and is really popular in terms of a news resource and a place people can chat openly about qpr.

These are just my views I have no axe to grind nor do I wish to go over old ground but I think the site needs to get back to doing what it did best bringing cutting edge information to the fan base.

Still to this day the sites greatest coup was the LDC interview, great stuff.

Cuts both ways. Some good posters like Sullivan and Sir Pie left for precisely the opposite reasons. Too many knuckle draggers being ultra aggressive and behaving like children - who needs it? Some of those (mentioning no names) who complain about over-moderation are the same ones who run and complain when they feel insulted.

When was the last thread closed? Even when about two fans were infuriating virtually the entire rest of the board by keeping a post going with some pretty close to the knuckle stuff recently it carried on running to well over 10 pages. Some love to claim they are being censored so they can appear victims, but the reality is a little different.

I know. And as Funky knows well the issue was he was putting links up to his site which simply directed people to newspaper articles - that already had beeen linked from our own site! He was clearly doing it purely to boost traffic. Yet when I think someone tried to do the same on his site they were stopped (or so I was told). So easy to criticise the running of another site, not so easy to run your own.

Why would I need to boost traffic when I do not sell advertising on the site?

                    I leave that to WATRB's

People can post links to other sites no problem.

Actually one of the threads that got removed from this site was an away fans guide to Everton I took time out phoned the club
found out what stand we would be in, our allocation and match day prices.

It was my article that I linked for fans, but your mods took it down.

The only reason why I responded to the thread was to give positive feedback, nothing more nothing less.

It's the mods over here that time and time again get sighted for being over zealous, perhaps some should take it on board, possibly have a chat about it in staff chat?

The messageboard is responsible for the content on it. In others if someone on here said something legally dodgy, WATRB could be held responsible for it.

Also if you want to have this board accesible by a wide spectrum of the fanbase, it's probably best to remove the nastier swearing etc.

The remit for the board is to drive as much traffic to the boards (and by association to the sponsors), to enable it to remain open. This means it has to be relatively 'family-friendly' (although I'd be more worried about kids being exposed to some of the spelling/grammar on here than the nastiness! )

If we lose a couple of knuckle-draggers who feel like their right to be as offensive as they want has been trampled, then the vast majority will benefit in the long run tbf

There are boards out there on the interwebs that are far more harshly modded than this one.

The unmodded sites tend to be absolute carnage, and unusable very quickly.

                          Funky,

Who actually gave out the correct personal information to the club ?

If you can answer that correctly, what do you feel would then have been the appropriate course of action ?

                          Thanks.

Who is trying to justify anything ?

I think you may have got the wrong end of the stick again vblock. I simply find it amusing that Funky constantly gives a bad and unfair impression of his mate, whilst attempting to defend him and criticise this site. Although I'm not at all surprised.

Its really funny that mods say that ain't nannies and Nic clegg wannabes and it's not them killing this excellent forum, so let's see if they can explain on here how calling someone a dope or a plum is insulting and worth 2 pts, as they wouldn't via pm.

                                Reason: Insulting another poster
                                -------
                                More insults...
