  • Encouraging signs...

I've seen a lot of them since Sparky took over. Overall the standard and quality of our play has been a lot higher than under Warnock. We also have better players now with the new signings. For these reasons I think we have enough about us to avoid the drop and predict an upturn on our recent form.

I was also encouraged by Hughes' post-match comments, saying that the 1st half display was quite simply unacceptable and that taught him a lot more about the team than ever before. This 2 week break has come along at a good time and I think he and the coaching staff are really going to get stuck into a lot the players, highlighting all the team's weaknesses and exactly how to improve them.

No rose-tinted specs here, these are my honest observations. I respect the fact that others hold a more pessimistic view, but this is mine

I'm with you mate. Still think there are teams far worse than us. Think we're in for a rough ride that could go all the way to the wire but I still fancy us surviving.

You know what I missed a lot of the negativity yesterday as in the state with work at min, I do kinda Agee with you , we are better then were getting results for, I obv never saw the game sat bit when looking at stats it showed they had 2 Shots on target and scored 3? We dominated all the stats shots possession off target pass completion etc etc, I know that dies t count for much but surely it must turn
Were lucky we're in a league where there are some really poor sides in it and you got to think we can do better

Many on here, including me are really down after these last two results, we really should be better than we've shown I think but the table doesn't lie! I sure hope you're right!

i agree, i still feel positive but obviously it's gonna be a hell of a soul-searching couple of months that we and the team have ahead and here's hoping we will start to get some points in...a couple of wins and everything will potentially change for us so fingers crossed and onwards and upwards!

Especially appreciated Hughes comments. Got a feeling Warnock would have still been making excuses (too cold etc.)

After the first half at Blackburn I have to say I thought we were dead and buried.

However if we take the game to teams like we did in the 2nd half, we should be alright.

It will go to the wire though.

Aint that the truth. It used to dive me mad when NW would fail to accept his or his teams blatent failings and instead blame anything or anyone else.... officials, injuries, play acting oppos, bad luck, conditions, twitter, old regime, illnesses, etc etc etc etc

Take some responsibility FFS. I think MH is the opposite and exactly what we need. The squad is good and when all available will be very competitive, strong, quick and with decent prem quality in most areas.

Stanley i totally agree with your post.

We need to ride this season out, start turnint results, which i'm sure we will, and assuming we do, i am really optimistic about what MH can do through the summer and next season starting from a level playing field with "His" team / squad going forward.

If we'd been dire for weeks and created very little i'd be worried, but regardless how bad the last couple of results have gone, we have looked very dangerous and created countless chances against Wolves with 10 men and 2nd half against a buzzing Blackburn on their patch.... It's frustrating asa both games were there for the taking, but i seriously think without Cisse's red we would have beaten Wolves no mistake, and i think with him and BZ up top against Blackburn we'd have taken the chances to win or worst case get a point.

HE has cost us dear and we need him back, composed, and focused from now on. My fear is that other teams saw that reaction, to what, let's be honest, was not really that bad a tackle compared to many in the prem, and they will target him no doubt. Concern is how strong are his legs these days as he's had horrific breaks in each, or have they been replaced with titanium alloy?

Also the facts are, we have had some shocking results go against us, and yet we're still not in the relegation zone and can take positives from that.

This current team has shown signs of being a very very good footballing side, the movement and intent in the second half was excellent, but our defence is not good enough, and we are going to need some luck between now and the end of the season.

                          You still bit**ing about Warnock
How about MH saying oh well you gotta take the positives, if that ain't making excuses i don't know what is
What f**kin positives from 2 games against teams lower than us that turned us over easily, but then that don't fit in with your hatred for the best manager at QPR since Venables

As I see it, "we" still tend to love Warnock. But at the end of his reign, he made so many mistakes despite of his hughe routine in the game that we "sadly" had to see him go.

                              I dunno.......
Is there something wrong in the dressing room? None of the players seem to be playing anywhere near to their potential and that alarms me. They are playing like as if their focus of attention is elsewhere, and don't seem to apply themselves wholeheartedly to the job.
Remember before the window closed, we were all salivating at the prospect of signing the players we eventually managed to sign; they were players 'other clubs would kill for' yet when they play for us they seem less than ordinary. I would say that our club this season has a gift for turning gold into lead, reverse Midas.
I really really hope MH can get to the bottom of this confidence/desire/ braveheart thing because they are not playing like they care.
