This squad lacks leaders.
The only player who looks really bothered is Mackie. Even on the bench he was the only one bothered when that disgraceful 3rd goal went in. Maybe he's this seasons Peter Crouch?
Highly paid players cannot do basic such as pass and defend.
Paddy Kenny looks like he couldn't care less and isn't marshalling the back 4 at all.
SWP needs to be given an injection --- a lethal one.
We have ONE player with a bit of pace and he's missing for huge games for us and when he comes back he'll be roughed up by every defender he comes up against.
The worst thing is however that we've thrown money around like confetti and yet we STILL end up with Fitz 'kin Hall as a starter and Rob Hulse gets a squad number. I really fear for us if the dreaded R appears next to our name as these stomachless gits will either be off our mill around in the Championship and not graft like you need to.
The potential?
We do have some good players who should have enough about them to keep it interesting for a while at least. The real potential is however the people at the very top who appear keen for this club to be built the right way. This doesn't appear to be a vanity project for them and, by their own admission, they're learning lessons (albeit expensive ones).
I'm out of love with football at the moment as it doesn't resemble the game I grew up playing and being made about. It's all about the fat contract, the blonde and the bling; success and the fans count for jack now.
Jamie Mac did put half a grin on my boat race today as did some of Adels play but it's another freezing cold Saturday afternoon watching the R's and a fruitless one yet again
