'old Mackie'? Can't we have a new Mackie!? As for starting again.....NO - unless upfront and not as a winger!

I only discovered yesterday that he should have been used as a striker. He could have been our Grant Holt.

As an impact sub for Cisse or Zamora would be ideal.

I don't rate mackie as a winger but if you play him up top he will at least put the defence under pressure and might get the odd goal but as for him playing on the wing where he is surposed to be creating chances well it just ain't happening, so try him up top until cisse comes back, we have no one else with pace so nothing to lose.

Sorry how many goals has SWP got and how much did he cost

I think he's finally found his best position.

He is a striker and most definitely NOT a winger. Hopefully MH now sees this too.

mackie puts a lot of players to shame , if adel loses the ball he flings his arms and curses , mackie trys to get it back . mackie is not technically gifted he knows that but his never say die attitude rubs off on others and its what we need to stay up

Credit to Taiwo and Adel for both assists too.

mackie can 'cut it' in the prem, so just shut up to the people that think he can't. Just face it, he can.

Great sub... Alot of defenders wouldn't want his pace and power in the last 20 mins of a game...

He should have been played as a striker and as a sub when he first came back from injury.

He is very effective in the way he plays.
Hence, as I see it, clearly of prem. quality when used in the correct way.
                            AND what a model pro!!

                            Hats off for him.:pleasantsuprise:

You actually are wrong. He can't cut it in the prem. To be able to say he can he would have to perform week in week out at a decent level which he hasn't done. He has looked well short of the level required and this is recognised by all around me that go to the games.

He made a big difference saturday coming on as sub. His fresh legs and attitude were the catalyst and he had a superb 20 minutes. BUT one 20 minute good spell does not suddenly make you a Premiership player. I have been to the 16 or so games he started this season and he was non existant and very poor in most if not all. If you have honestly been to all those games and think he played well and had a great game then one of us is going to Specsavers.

He is an impact sub. He will never start ahead of Cisse and Zamora as those two are miles better than him. But he showed saturday he should not be discarded either.

Subs can be very important. Remember David Fairclough.
