£4m! I think he'll need to show a lot more composure than he has in the first two appearances. Having said that, it has only been two and it can take time for overseas players to settle.

Drogba was terrible in his first season at Chelsea and was going to be sold at the end of it but improved dramatically in his second season onwards (despite falling over a lot!). There are numerous other examples of that too.

I'd certainly like to see how we would get on with a £4m rated left back though :yush:

He will be quality, just to many on here need to moan about someone and because he is new and has not started the best he is easy target. Get off his back and get behind him. Would Cisse and Zamora have got the same treatment if they hadn't scored on there debuts.

See if he is saying the same thing at the end of the season if we get relegated and half the guys have left.
Don't slate me I'm only saying, not that I think we are going down, yet.

Thats all very well, but we need cant afford for him to start playing well in his second season, beause we may well be playing championship football by that point. We need him to start putting in performances now

Well of course you would being as positive as the wrong end of a battery.

Clint has done well for us, but he is very limited for the Prem.

Taiwo will get better with games, familiarity with a new defensive unit, and getting sharper and fitter each match.

Also, to those saying he was bad need to look at the bigger picture, he certainly hasn't been the only defender at fault in the 2 games, yet nobody mentions the others for some reason, prefering to slate this guy for whatever reason.... hmm great idea, lets p1s5 off the defender with a higher pedigree than all of them and maybe he'll decide to leave in the summer.

Against Villa, Ferdinand left a gaping space at the near post for the first goal and Onoura lost Bent and let him run into it for a tap in, yet people blam Taiwo.... yes the cross came in from his side, but it should never have got that far, and Bent shouldn't have had a free run. Villas second goal could've been prevented if Young stayed on his feet and face up to Nzogbia rather than a pointless lunge.... Wolves first goal, again Young sold too easilly for the first, and as for the 2nd, Taiwo was the one trying to block the shot from Doyle which was from right of centre of our box so where exactly where the CB's that meant he had to come all the way across to try and stop the goal.....?

People need to be fair in their criticism when as a group the defence have been questionable, not pick out one player. I'm sure they will come good as a unit but understanding takes a little time. They are all good enough players and i think will prove to be a very solid back line.

Also Taiwo's passing has been excellent. His balls from back to front found Zamora and Cisse almost every time and allowed us to statrt an attack from defence quickly, people seem to overlook this. He also put a fantastic 50 yard pass over Johnson's head right on Cisse's boot in the box, but his touch was poor and took him backwards, if not that would've been an almost certain goal. Plus his crossing has been good, with balls whipped in with pace into dangerous areas, not hitting the first man every time like some...

He will be quality once settled, much like Evra who had a mare to start his time in England. If the fee is £4m i think that's money well invested.

i like how he tries to pass to feet moving forward as opposed to the kenny/hall/hill etc. hoof it upfield and lose possession approach. he will get better game after game, of that i am sure, because of his experience and pedigree.

i think this guy will come good and i'd love to see us sign him permanently. unfortunately we just need him to come good asap to keep us in the prem this term!
                              come on you r's!
