I'm not his biggest fan, but I loved his appearance on SSN last night. A man after my own heart.

Any Englishman who wants another foreigner in charge of England needs to give their head a wobble. Like Jose gives a s**t about England. 'Arry is more than competent, and he's been gagging for this job. I can't think of anyone who'll care more than him about how England do. He'll make the players believe, just through his own passion.

I'm genuinely shocked anyone would want another foreign manager. Especially Jose. Hiddink would be the only one worth considering as he's got the international credentials, but for me, it has to be Redknapp.

Its got to be an Englishman, nothing else will do. Sven and Postman Pat haven't exactly done well have they.

    'Arry is the man

I agree but what happens if Harry turns it down. Which English manager is there after him?

Not in a million years will he turn it down.

But if he did, then Hiddink would be my choice. As I said, he's got a proven record at international level.

problem with harry is he loves the old skool...JT, Lamps, Stevie G etc are all firm favourites for him....Really dont want any of them there..

i agree Harry is the best manager but i fear it may be a massive step backwards....after all we aint going to win it...why not give the young lions a chance to restore some national pride to our side, and some repect from other countries....

At present our side are a joke and disgrace....let the young uns have a go and actually restore the idea of trying for your national team...ala robson, ince,pearce,etc...

Who better to lead then than Pearce right now?...dont care if we dont win as long as our players give it thier all...IMHO!!

I'm not so sure. I think he know's what is needed. Parker will be a cert, and he likes pace and craft in front of that. Wilshire will be his creative man when he finally gets back. And in fairness, I can see him getting the best out of Lampard or Gerrard again.

Dawson will get the shout over JT all day long, and on form, rightly so. Kyle Walker will be another of his Spurs boys, and I can see a Rooney / Zamora partnership, with Defoe from the bench.

He likes fast, attacking football. That's the sort of football needed at that level.

Pearce has never done anything in his life except crawl round the England managers a**e.Nothing at club level and just manages to scrape into tournaments with a highly competant Youth team. It's got to be 'Arry ,even on a part time basis until the end of the season.Maybe Rosie could go to any meetings. She's got the bus fare.

Agreed, i think he knows whats needed and has the skill to get the best out of who-ever he plays..

But with the old school, whats the point? Hopefully he will look to build for the next tournament. Maybe blooding a few youngsters would be good. If he keeps it as you've stated with new faces and 1 or 2 old boys for experience then that would be great, just feel that if we meet a big team it'll be back to the old gaurd....
Certainly cant disagree with the selections you've suggested...now to persuade uncle "Arry"....

Also would be intersted to see if Lambert is in the running....

Like i say, i think Harry will be in nick soon or dead judging by the looks of him !! I he still really alive or is that a body double ??!

sad that there is only a couple of english names that have the qualities at the top level to do the job. need young english/british players, coaching staff and managers to start coming through.

Agreed, is that because we dont train them properly..? I dont believe you have to be a great player to be a great manager, and Ferie proves that, but what does it take? and why aint we got it?

loads of great players are sithe managers i.e roy keene, bryan robson etc. foreign owners seem to go for foreign and like to take players from everywhere else when in reality english players are as good as most bar the very top level. needs to be more rule changes regarding clubs having a bigger amount of homegrown players....it can only end in tears if the recent trend continues. a big problem is the price put on young british talent and clubs try and find a cheap oversea's alternative that is often inferior to what we have waiting to play here.
