I CANT BELEIVE THAT I HAVE HAD NEARLY THREE HUNDRED POSTERS VISIT THAT THREAD NEVEER HAVE I SEEN A RESPONCE LIKE IT

it shows that many people who know about the qpr history beleive buying these young wizkids can rebuild our club

BUYING ZAMMORA IS NOT A GOOD INVESTMENT

rodney marsh bought for 15 000 sold for 200 000 after he had scored a hundred goals for us,his money was used to buy stan bowles and don givens
who both went onto score a hundred goals each, and would you beleive when they were sold there transfers returned the origional 150 000 pin money plus a nice profit, factomondo was posting about gary hooper before any body had heard of this player when he was worth 150 000 but knowbody tyhought of sending scouts to look at him now hes worth 6 000 000,that is where the profit is that we need to keep our club running

1 game 1 goal isnt a bad investment so far.

      no

no i disagree the origional jim gregory plan was to buy players who could score loads of goals then be sold when they were about 28 to 30 years of age
      ie marsh ,bowles,givens,peacock,sinton,ferdinand,parker etc

how much is zxammora gonna be worth in three years time aged 34,this kind of irresponsable purchasing of players will run us into bankruptsy

Agree but staying in the PL is worth a whole lot more than any profit made by selling on a player.

Atm, we need players to keep us up, not 1s we can re-sell in years to come. And, IMO, Zamora is just the type we need.

Hughes could not afford to sign an untried player. He is already getting flack because some of the players he signed are not making an immediate impact. Hopefully at the end of the season he can look into bringing in young players.

Having said that he has already brought in two young players on loan which in itself is a bit of a gamble.

Things are not the same as in Jim Gregory's time. The First Division (Premiership) was not worth 90 million a year, players did not get enormous salaries and it was possible to buy good young players cheaply and later sell them on.

            so

well everyone has there own opinion we will just have to disagree on this one
i think mackie could end up selling for three million pound in three years time and fourlin is already valued at many millions as long as he can regain his fitness

                Spot on.

The problem wth Rhodes is he's a good player playing against chumps and therefore finds it easy and stands out, but there's absolutley no certainty he will be good agaisnt world class defenderes, especially as not even proven in the 2nd tier, let alone the prem. similar to Chris Boyd in the SPl, scored for fun, then struggled in our Championship.

If the asking price was realistic then it migh be worth a gamble, but it;s not. They're talking about £5m..... more than we played for Cisse and Zamora, ridiculous. As a comparison, Graham was top scorer in the championship last season and people were saying £3.5m for him was way too much, so on what logic is an unproven lge 1 player worth loads more?

To really put it in perspective, remember Micchael Ricketts... Had a storming season in the Prem scored 15 by feb (according to Wiki) before getting his Englend call up, then never scored again that season, and did pretty much nothgin else for his career. I'm sure after the start he had to that season youd've been loving the idea of signing him, and that was in the top flight, not the 3rd tier.

                  well

well it seems as though you guys all disagree with me and yes your arguments against my ideas are good

but there have been people who i could call managerial geniuses,i think venables was one such person when he left us because he had followed my suggestion to buy young,we were able to keep our premirship for a further
                  15 seasons
lets now look at one of the worst managers in our history dave sexton
every player he bought were either too old or complete crap but according to those of you than think buying zamora was a good buy sexton would be one of the greatest managers in our history because he got us to runners up in the top division which has been the finest league position in our history
sextons team phil parkes bought by les allen 15 000 from walsal, dave clement and ian gillard both products from our youth system gerry francis product from our youth system, stan bowles don givens dave thomas all purchsed by gordon jago, dave sexton bought dave webb and don masson who were both too old,it was sexton who hesitated to accept the man utd 500 000 bid of gerry francis because he didnt have any ability to buy in the transfer market
                  that finished our club
so all of you who disagree with me please remember that i made these observations, and then realise that football is not about the players its about management
people who are slagging of warnock are not being fair because he didnt use big money to bring in players, but his decision to buy hulse was insanity, because he was too old
but more than that it was hulses in abilty to score a goal that took she utd down
he madfe 24 appearances and scored zero goals,so that shows us what happens when you buy old donkeys he wont score this season i doubt if he does you geezers on this thread can pm me and say i thought you said hulse wont score this season
