That Clattenburg are an international referee is a complete joke. He loves the attention. If anyone's watching Newcastle v Aston Villa, that tackle by Warnock on Taylor probably caused a leg-break. Did he recieve a booking? No. Clattenburg could easily just have chosed to book both Cissé and Johnson with no discussion after the game whatsoever. Clattenburg is one of those referee's who when they get the tiniest opportunity to get some headlines, grabs it. He has done it before. What signifies a good referee is when you haven't noticed him throughout the game. Of course this depends on which game it is, but a good referee wears some kind of camouflage and you shouldn't be able to recall his name after the game. So please Clattenburg, retire.

What about when swp was cut in half by bassong first half?
His feet were of the floor and was a stonewall red

        How did Bassong play?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Very well was marshalling their back line
Was hoping he'd be pony and we had a lucky escape

Additionally he only grabbed Johnson in the heat of the moment, think a less attention seeking referee would have maybe shown a yellow to both players.
Cisse deserved to go for what he done and I'm amazed people are looking at ways of justifying what he done, or are questioning the lack of common sense by the ref. I would fine Cisse as much as I could for his stupidity.

What does baffle me with the laws is a potentially leg breaking late tackle has the same consequencies as kicking the ball away and holding somebodys chin is deemed even worse

Agree, its nearly as confusing as why people clap someone after they have been sent off for being a *****.

It's the inconsistency that annoys me too.

In the man city vs fulham game yesterday there was a clash between dembele and kolarov

Can somebody please tell me why these both only got booked but Barton got sent off and a 3 game ban for less? (given that barton did not make anywhere near as much of a 'butt' into johnson as these two did to each other)

That's a question I'd like to see put to Neil Swarbrick, the pr1ck who sent Joey off against Norwich.
