The more I watch the challenge on Cisse and his reaction I really think Clatenburg should have used some common sense. Yes according to the letter of the law he should have been sent off but it was a poor challenge by Johnson and he followed through with his trialling leg. Additionally he only grabbed Johnson in the heat of the moment, think a less attention seeking referee would have maybe shown a yellow to both players.

And the rules are all laid out in black and white, no need for #####s like Swarbrick, Clattenburg, et al, to "interpret" the rules, just apply the bloody rules as laid down in the FA rule book, and nobody would have any complaints.

The refs are shite, but the rules are worse.
The sending off of Cisse was correct to the letter of the rules. However, some of his decisions before and after that were strange and poor. And that was decisions for and against us.
The second half linesman had trouble keeping up with play down by R block.

If referees were obliged to apply the rules as written down, then Cisse would see red even if he played for Manure at Old Triffid.
