Sad to say both SWP & Barton have been big let downs for me.
SWP hasn't replicated his early promise v Newcastle, doesn't seem able to beat a man and his distribution is too often poor, regularly conceeding possesion. He hasn't scored (although West Brom was harsh) and created too few assists.
In his defence he has been played in too many positions which hasn't helped.
Barton shows more balls on tw@tter than on the pitch. A keyboard bully now. Yes he works hard and occasionally sees and plays a great pass. Problem is it's too occasional. Has cost us 3 goals so far with needlessly conceeding possesion.
At least he's scored twice but my biggest disappointment is he shows none of the leadership skills I was expecting. I'd hoped for a Premiership version of Derry.
I'm sure one of them will disappear IF we drop back into the Championship and it will be no big loss IMO. In fact, we'll probably get a couple of Million back on someone we got for free !
