  • Several early thoughts on today

First, very unlucky. Yes, Cisse probably deserved to get sent off, but on another day the ref sees that as a yellow, just an overreaction by a player who suffered one of the worst leg breaks in premiership history to a terrible late challenge...

Second, loads of positives. Yes, it was a 6 pointer, but we're still out of the drop zone, bolton lost and we're on top of wolves on goal difference. Early signs are zamora and cisse will be excellent together. We bossed the opening period and looked full of goals and attacking threat. And it's looking like Joey's finding some form - spread play very well today and looks energised by the new talent around him.

Third, such a positive that it belongs in its own category - Taraabt. Huge threat today, even when we were down to 10 men. Looked composed and made us tick at times, upping our tempo. But most of all he worked his socks off. Saw him track back at pace several times and was completely willing to be first line of defence against their wingplay. Very impressed with him, and gotta think that MH had words about what he needs to see from him. Bodes extremely well for his future at QPR.

So there we are, don't let's cry about this and quickly move on. I have faith DJ can can step in for Cisse and play off Zamora - IMO that's our next best front two if he's fit, and still has plenty of goals in it.

Agree there were positives but how many points have we dropped to these lower teams? Its going to be hard to pick up points with that difficult run to come. Barton was shocking, not sure where that posituve came from

Yellow card tops never was it a red. Its red for hitting someone. The rules might state agression/grabbing hold of etc gets a red but the REAL rule applied by the vast majority of refs in reality is only red for hitting someone.

Except for QPR where it is apparently a red.

Can't see conference dj playing for us again because he is useless

Cisse now missing for best part of a Month - including what looked like 2 winnable home games. The pace we've just spent £4 mill on now gone.

Hulse looked like he always does - an absolute donkey.
Adel getting back to his best.

Red card did change the game - but it shouldn't. It does not account for why the defence went to bits for 20 minutes at the start of the 2nd half - especially as we got to HT 1-0 up and had the break to re-group. The red should have meant that the 2nd goal would be hard to come by, but that's all. Look at West Ham today, 10 men after 9 minutes and still won the game. Same happened v Norwich, man off and throw in the towel

Red card all day long. You cannot grab an opposing player round the throat in the game these days and expect to stay on the pitch, never a yellow and it was obvious he was reaching for a red.

agree with all this, once we went to 10 men it was obvious we was going to concede a couple..fans knew it and players knew it. We just collapsed, no composure and no one working that extra 10 per cent to make up for the player we lost.

Cue Jamie Mackie - wouldn't be the first time his work rate was equal to any two other players. Plus that performance last season where Warnock put him at right back/right wing and he did both jobs.
Oh no I forgot, he's the worst player ever to play in the premier league.

And yet again Norwich and Swansea win again, ok today their results helped us but i'm so sick of seeing them again pick up points when we have yet again dropped them (for whatever reason)

forget them, we gonna stay up and next season we gonna have a better team than them.

I believe Norwich and Swansea success boil down to stability and team spirit which we are lacking at the moment...
